목적 본 연구의 목적은 중년여성의 자기분화와 정서표현양가성, 대인관계능력 간의 관계가 어떠한지 살펴보고 자기분화와 대인관계능력 간의 관계에서 정서표현양가성의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 전국에 거주하고 있는 40-59세 중년여성을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 275부가 연구 분석에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0과 SPSS Process Macro 4.1을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기분화와 대인관계능력 간에는 유의한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기분화와 정서표현양가성 간에는 유의한 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 정서표현양가성의 매개효과를 하위요인별로 살펴본 결과, 자기분화와 대인관계능력 간의 관계에서 자기방어적 양가성은 매개효과가 나타나지 않은 반면, 관계관여적 양가성은 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 중년여성의 자기분화가 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 관계관여적 정서표현양가성이 일정한 역할을 한다는 점을 확인하였다. 이는 대인관계에서 어려움을 겪고 있는 중년여성들을 위한 상담에서는 관계관여적 동기에 의한 갈등 문제가 중요하게 다뤄져야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between self-differentiation, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and interpersonal relationship ability in middle-aged women, and to examine whether ambivalence over emotional expressiveness plays a mediating role in the relationship between self-differentiation and interpersonal relationship ability. Methods For this purpose, an online survey targeted middle-aged women aged between 40-59 over the country was conducted, and 275 answers were analyzed with SPSS 27.0 and SPSS Process Macro 4.1. Results The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between self-differentiation and interpersonal relationship ability. Second, there was a significant negative correlation between self-differentiation and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. Third, by examining the mediating effect of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness by sub-factor, self-defensive ambivalence did not appear to have a mediating effect in the relationship between self-differentiation and interpersonal relationship ability, whereas relationship-involved ambivalence had a mediating effect. Conclusions Through this research, it was confirmed that relationship-related emotional expression ambivalence plays a certain role in the process in which middle-aged women's self-differentiation affects their interpersonal ability. It means that the issues of conflicts due to relationship-involved motivation should be handled while counseling middle-aged women with difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
