보육교사의 그림책 읽기 공동체 참여 경험의 의미

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 보육교사들이 그림책 읽기 공동체에 참여하여 어떠한 경험을 하였으며, 이러한 경험들이 드러내는 의미는 무엇인지 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 D시 보육교사 5명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 보육교사들의 그림책 읽기 공동체는 2023년 8월 13일부터 2023년 12월 3일까지 총 10회 실시하였으며, 그림책 읽기 공동체 참여 경험에 대한 집단 면담과 저널쓰기 자료, 서평 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 결과 본 연구에서 보육교사들은 그림책 읽기 공동체 참여를 통해 첫째, 보육교사는 그림책의 세심한 의미 탐색과 그림책 읽기를 통한 적극적인 독자가 되었다. 둘째, 해석의 다양성을 수용하고 새로운 의미를 발견하며 함께 성장하였다. 셋째, 독자로서의 변화와 새로운 도전으로 자신만의 독서 세계를 구축하였다. 넷째, 교육의 현장에 활기를 불어넣는 실천적 학습을 하였다. 결론 그림책 읽기 공동체를 통해 보육교사들은 문학적 감수성과 문학적 역량을 향상시킬 수 있었으며, 그림책 읽기 공동체는 교육의 현장에서 실질적인 변화를 이끌어내는 소중한 학습의 장이 될 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to explore the experiences of childcare teachers participating in a picture book reading community and to examine the meanings revealed through these experiences. Methods For this purpose, five childcare teachers from D City were selected as research participants. The picture book reading community sessions for the childcare teachers were conducted 10 times from August 13, 2023, to December 3, 2023. Data collection included group interviews, journal entries, and book reviews related to their experiences in the picture book reading community, which were subsequently analyzed. Results This study revealed the following outcomes for childcare teachers participating in the picture book reading community: First, teachers became active readers by exploring the nuanced meanings of picture books and engaging deeply in the reading process. Second, they embraced diverse interpretations, discovered new meanings, and experienced collective growth. Third, they underwent personal transformations as readers, took on new challenges, and developed their own unique reading worlds. Fourth, they engaged in practical learning that revitalized their educational practices. Conclusions Participation in the picture book reading community allowed childcare teachers to enhance their literary sensitivity and literary competence. Moreover, the picture book reading community proved to be a valuable platform for fostering meaningful learning and driving tangible changes in educational practice.
