뉴노멀 시대 지역사회 중심 청소년 교육의 가능성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 ‘2021 제주 청소년 건축학교’에 대한 고찰을 통하여, 뉴노멀 시대 건축의 융복합적 사고가 지역사회 청소년 교육 측면에서 어떻게 역할을 할 수 있으며 그 한계와 가능성이 무엇인지를 밝히고자한다. 방법 이를 위하여 제주 청소년 건축학교 프로그램 개발에 이론적 배경이 된 지역사회 중심 청소년 교육, 건축교육에 대한 이론적 고찰을 시행하였다. 다음으로는 제안된 프로그램의 특성(교육주체, 교육과정, 교육내용 등)을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 청소년 건축학교의 결과물들에 대한 분석과 평가를 통해 프로그램의 한계와 가능성을 고찰하였다. 결과 프로그램의 교육목표로 건축가의 사회적 역할과 책임을 이해하는 ‘사회성’, 생각이 건축공간으로 구축되는 방식을 이해하는 ‘창의성’, 공동체 일원으로서 역할을 모색하는 ‘지역성’을 공유할 수 있었으며, 교육목표를 실현하기 위해 ‘가치공유, 목표설정, 제안 및 평가’의 3단계로 프로그램을 구분 할 수 있었다. 실천과정의 분석을 통해 모둠별로 서로 다른 공간에서 교육이 이루어지고 있음에도 학습자들은 제시된 각 단계의 목표에 부응하는 성과물을 도출할 수 있었다. 평가 결과 코로나 펜데믹이라고 하는 명확한 사회적 현상에 대한 건축가의 새로운 역할(사회성)과 창의적 건축적 대안(창의성)이 높게 평가되었다. 반면 코로나로 인한 경직으로 지역에 대한 고민(지역성)의 결과는 상대적으로 좋은 평가가 이루어지지 못하였음을 밝힐 수 있었다. 결론 ‘2021 제주 청소년 건축학교’는 지역의 다양한 주체들이 협력체계를 구축하며 교육목표와 프로그램을 개발하는 등 지역사회 중심 청소년 건축교육 특성을 지니고 있음을 밝힐 수 있었다. 또한 지역의 자원을 활용한 교육이 결과적으로 청소년들의 사회적 문제 발견 및 해결과 창의성 발현에 이바지할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 다만 코로나 시국으로 인한 분산 및 비대면 교육으로 교육품질의 편차나 지역성에 대한 접촉면이 많지 않았던 점을 향후의 과제라 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives Community-centered youth education that develops the ability to solve problems in the local community is of great importance for the youth who must live in the era of the new normal after the pandemic. Therefore, this study intends to reveal how convergence thinking in architecture can play a role in the education of youth in the local community and what its limitations and possibilities are through a review of ‘2021 Jeju Youth Architecture School’. Methods First, a theoretical review was conducted on community-centered youth education and architecture education, which were the theoretical backgrounds for the development of the Jeju Youth Architecture School program. Next, the characteristics of the proposed program (educational subject, curriculum, educational content, etc.) were considered. Finally, the limitations and possibilities of the program were considered through analysis and evaluation of the results of the youth architecture school. Results As the educational goals of the program, ‘sociality’ to understand the social roles and responsibilities of architects, ‘creativity’ to understand how ideas are built into architectural spaces, and ‘locality’ to seek a role as a member of the community were shared. In order to realize the educational goals, the program could be divided into three stages: ‘value sharing, goal setting, suggestion and evaluation’. As a result of the evaluation, the architect's new role (sociality) and creative architectural alternatives (creativity) were highly evaluated for a clear social phenomenon called the corona pandemic. On the other hand, it could be revealed that the results of concerns about the region (locality) due to the rigidity caused by the corona were not relatively well evaluated. Conclusions ‘2021 Jeju Youth Architecture School’ was able to reveal that it has the characteristics of community-centered youth architecture education, such as developing a cooperative system and developing educational goals and programs among various local actors. In addition, it was confirmed that education using local resources can contribute to the discovery and resolution of social problems and the expression of creativity among young people.
