영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니의 SNS 활용에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니의 SNS 활용에 대해 살펴보는 것이다. 즉, 영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니가 SNS를 언제 어떻게 이용하는지, SNS를 이용하면서 느끼는 문제점은 무엇인지, 문제점을 어떻게 개선하고 싶은지 등을 파악하고자 한다. 본 연구에는 광주광역시와 전라남도의 유아교육기관에 자녀를 보내는 23명의 어머니가 참여하였다. 자료는 2020년 1월부터 4월까지 총 4개월 동안 인터뷰를 통해 수집되었으며, 반복적 비교분석법으로 분석되었다. 연구결과에서 어머니들은 맘 카페나 단체 카톡에 참여하는 방법으로 SNS를 이용하고, 이를 통해 육아 정보를 획득할 뿐만 아니라 사회관계를 맺고 스트레스를 해소하며 정서적 도움을 받았다. 그러나 SNS에 부정확한 정보가 많아서 어머니들은 자신에게 맞는 정보를 선별하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 어머니들은 효과적으로 SNS를 이용하려면 자녀 양육과 교육에 대한 나름의 가치관을 세우는 것이 중요함을 역설하였다. 다시 말해 영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니에게 효과적인 SNS 사용법에 관한 교육이 필요한 실정이다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 효과적인 SNS 사용법에 관한 부모교육의 기초자료를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine SNS application of mothers caring infants and young children. This study figured out when and how mothers caring infants and young children used SNS, what matters happened when they used SNS, how they wanted to solve the matters. Participants were 23 mothers whose children attending preschools and kindergartens in Gwangju metropolitan city and JeollaNamdo. Data were collected through interview during four months from January to April in 2020, and analyzed using a constant comparison method. The results of this study showed that the mothers used SNS by participating in mom cafe or group kakaotalk, and thus, they gathered parenting information, formed a social connection, resolved caring stress, and received emotional help. However, they had a difficulty in selecting information because SNS had too much incorrect information. Thus they emphasized that mothers should have their own values on child-rearing and education in order to use SNS effectively. That is to say, mothers caring infants and young children need education about effective SNS application. Finally, it is significant that this study provides baseline data about parent education on effective SNS application.
