들뢰즈 리좀 개념에 비추어 본 독서교육의 시사점

국문 초록

본 연구는 균형적 성장을 위한 체제적 관점에서 독서교육의 특징을 파악하고, 철학자 들뢰즈의 리좀 개념에 비추어 독서교육의 방향에 대한 시사점을 고찰하였다. 들뢰즈가 철학적 사유를 바탕으로 다른 학문에의 적용을 멈추지 않은 것처럼 이러한 시도는 독서교육 연구의 새로운 창조를 위한 리좀적 시도가 될 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 리좀의 개념을 철학적 렌즈로 적용하고, Whittemore와 Knafl(2005)의 통합적 문헌연구 방법에 기반한 탐색을 수행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 독서교육은 체제적 관점에서 시간성을 고려한 평생독자의 양성을 위해 작용할 수 있어야 하며 삶의 모든 공간에서 리좀적 생성의 가능성을 내포한다. 둘째, 이러한 특징을 중심으로 리좀의 원리에 기반한 독서교육의 시사점을 ① 우발적 마주침의 연속으로 창조되는 독서교육의 장, ② 모든 것의 다름을 존중하는 독서교육의 장, ③ 모두를 주체로 존중하는 독서교육의 장, ④ 새로운 공간으로 사유를 이끄는 독서교육, ⑤ 자발적 지도생성을 이끄는 독서교육, ⑥ 스스로의 성장과 성찰을 존중하는 독서교육과 같이 여섯 가지로 정리할 수 있었다. 이는 학교를 중심으로 형성하는 독서교육의 중심담론을 대신하여, 삶 속에서 독서를 실천하는 자발적이며 능동적인 독자 양성을 위한 실천적 독서교육을 논의하기 위한 시도가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Based on the assumption that the direction of reading education should not be different from where reading itself essentially heads towards and on the fact that reading should be what everybody could enjoy, this research examines the importance of an ecological view on reading education. Especially, Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of the rhizome is employed for the development of a conceptual model for ecological reading education. From an alternative perspective drawn from this philosophical concept, a critical literature review is done to survey theoretical implications that the principle of rhizome suggests regarding the development of a conceptual model for ecological reading education. This survey brings the following insights: reading education should orient to the same destination as to where reading itself brings its readers into; reading is not separable from our lives; reading is a meaning construction process through books; the current cognitive perspective of reading education performed in schools needs to be re-examined from more ecological viewpoints. Furthermore, through the theoretical lens of rhizome in Deleuze and Guattari’s philosophy, the ecological reading education is characterized as the place under constant re-creations through continuous encounters with unexpected, where any kinds of differences are accepted and respected, and where everyone deserves respect. It also suggests that the ecological reading education should be able to bring readers to the new space for meaning constructions, encourage them to draw their own maps, and give them an opportunity to introspect themselves being grown by their own reading practice.
