완벽주의 군집에 따른 능동적 학업 지연 및 대학생활적응의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생의 자기지향적 및 사회부과적 완벽주의 성향에 따라 어떤 군집이 발생하는지 탐색하고, 완벽주의 집단에 따라 능동적 학업 지연과 대학생활적응에 차이가 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 2018년 2학기 A대학교 교양수업에 참여한 대학생 중 설문에 성실하게 응답한 125명의 데이터를 군집분석을 실시한 결과, 비(非)완벽주의 집단(자기지향적·사회부과적 완벽주의 모두 낮음), 타인충족 완벽주의 집단(자기지향적 낮고 사회부과적 높음), 그리고 자기·타인충족 완벽주의 집단(자기지향적·사회부과적 모두 높음)의 세 집단이 도출되었다. 이후, ANOVA와 MANOVA를 이용하여 완벽주의의 세 집단 간 능동적 학업 지연과 대학생활적응의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 능동적 학업 지연에 있어서, 비(非)완벽주의 집단이 시간압박을 선호하며, 마감능력이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 자기·타인충족 완벽주의 집단 역시 마감능력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 대학생활적응의 전체 평균에서는 비(非)완벽주의 집단이 다른 두 집단에 비해 대학생활적응에 큰 어려움을 겪지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로, 개인-정서적 적응 차원에서는 자기·타인충족 완벽주의 집단이 더 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났고, 학업적·대학환경적·사회적 적응 차원에서는 타인충족 완벽주의 집단이 더 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The study was conducted to explore clusters for Korean university students by conducting cluster analysis using self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism of the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (HMPS) as the clustering variables, and to examine whether the scores of active academic procrastination and adaptation to college are different among the perfectionism groups. The results of the cluster analysis using self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism confirmed the presence of three clusters: (a) non-perfectionists who received below average scores in both self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism, (b) other-fulfilling perfectionists who received below averages on self-oriented perfectionism and above averages on socially prescribed perfectionism, and (c) self/other-fulfilling perfectionists who received above averages in all two perfectionism areas. A MANOVA was conducted to identify the differences on the scores of active academic procrastination among the three perfectionism groups. The results indicated that non-perfectionists received significantly higher scores on preference for pressure and ability to meet deadlines than the other two groups. Self/other-fulfilling perfectionists also received significantly higher scores on ability to meet deadlines than other-fulfilling perfectionists. Another MANOVA was conducted to identify the differences on the scores of adaptation to college among the three perfectionism groups. As a result, self/other-fulfilling perfectionists received significantly lower scores on individual and emotional adaptation than the other two groups, while other-fulfilling perfectionists received significantly lower scores on scholastic adaptation, adaptation of university s general environment, as well as social adaptation than the other two perfectionism groups.
