국문 초록

이 연구는 2018년 1학기에 D 대학교 1학년 [독서와 토론] 수강생 121명을 대상으로 PBL (문제중심학습) 방법을 활용하여 “자연 환경과 숲을 활용한 독서 문화콘텐츠 개발” 이라는 주제를 가지고 “북 콘서트” 팀 활동 사례를 분석한 것이다. 학교 숲을 매개로 한 [독서와 토론] 수업에 PBL을 활용하게 된 연구 목적은 학생들의 주도적인 학습활동을 자극하는 것이 의사소통능력을 함양하는 교육목표 달성에 더 효과적이라고 판단했기 때문이다. 최근 학생들이 대학생활에서 많이 경험하는 대표적인 스트레스는 학업, 진로, 인간관계, 건강, 취업, 대인관계기술 등으로 이처럼 과도한 스트레스는 근심, 침울함, 무력감 및 무가치함을 나타내는 등 학교적응에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 대학생들이 학교 숲을 체험함으로서, 학생들의 학업 스트레스를 경감시키고, 학업 성취도 제고 및 만족도 향상에 기여 할 수 있는 적용가능성을 제시해 보았다. 연구 결과, 학교 숲을 매개로 한 PBL 방식의 지도방안은 학습자가 많은 정보들 중 필요한 것을 선별하고 문제해결을 위해 스스로가 지식을 창출하고, 응용하고, 적응할 수 있는 문화융합사고력 향상에 효과적인 이었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 학습자는 학교 교내의 자연 환경을 관찰하고 창의적 문화 콘텐츠 개발이라는 맥락과 함께 인문고전 콘서트 기획 공연 활동은, 독서 방법의 문제점을 파악하고, 인문고전 읽기에 관한 방법론을 스스로 찾아 가는 성과를 보여 주었다. 이러한 교양교육 과정을 위하여 팀원들과의 토론이 일상화가 되고, 전시공연기획을 통한 적극적이고 능동적인 태도와 자기주도적 학습 태도는 신입생의 대학 생활을 긍정적으로 함양한다.

영문 초록

This study applied the PBL (Problem-based Learning) method to the theme of “Development of Reading Culture Content Using the Natural Environment and Forests,” and was conducted on 121 first-year college students in 2018. An analysis of the “book concert” team activities was conducted. The purpose of the study was to use PBL in reading and discussion classes conducted in the school forest because it has previously been found that stimulating students’ leading learning activities is more effective in achieving educational goals that promote communication skills. The most common stresses that students experience in college life relate to academics, career, human relations, health, employment, and interpersonal skills. These stresses have a negative effect on school adaptation, resulting in anxiety, depression, powerlessness, and worthlessness. This study suggests the applicability of the forest environment in alleviating students’ academic stress and contributing to improvements in academic achievement and satisfaction. The results showed that the PBL-based guidance method, using the environment of the school forest, was effective in improving the ability to think in terms of cultural convergence. Learners are able to sift through large amounts of information to select the necessary information, and can create, apply, and adapt their own knowledge for problem solving. In addition, the learners observe the natural environment in the school and develop creative cultural content from this experience. The planning of performances for a Humanities Classical Concert showed the results of identifying the problems of reading methods and finding new methodologies for reading the humanities. As a result, in this liberal arts program, discussions with team members become commonplace, and positive, active, and self-directed learning attitudes were developed through exhibition performance planning, fostering a new positivity in the students’ college life.
