국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 사회적 위축이 또래애착에 미치는 영향과 이들 변인의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과를 검증하고, 나아가 자아존중감의 조절효과에 대한 학교급별 차이를 파악하는데 있다. 이러한 연구를 위해 2015년 한국아동․청소 년패널조사 6,133명의 데이터(초등학교 6학년 2,067명, 중학교 3학년 2,057명, 고등학교 3학년 2,009명)를 이용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 청소년의 사회적 위축은 또래애착에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 청소년의 사회적 위축과 또래애착 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과가 검증되었다. 마지막으로, 학교급에 따라 사회적 위축과 또래애착 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과의 차이가 확인되었다. 즉 중․고등학생의 자아존중감은 사회적 위축과 또래애착의 관계에서 조절효과가 나타난데 비해 초등학생의 자아존중감은 조절효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이는 학교급에 따라 청소년의 사회적 위축이 또래애착에 미치는 부정적인 영향을 완충시키는 자아존중감의 효과가 상이할수 있음을 나타낸다. 따라서 청소년의 사회적 위축을 감소시키고 또래애착을 증진시 키기 위한 학교급별 교육 프로그램 개발 및 지원에 대한 필요성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of adolescents social withdrawal on their peer attachment and the moderating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between these two variables, and furthermore, to examine the differences in the moderating effect of self-esteem according to school levels. The data used for this study came from the 2015 Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey in which the participants consisted of a total of 6,133 subjects(2,067 sixth graders in elementary schools, 2,057 third year students in middle schools, and 2,009 third year students in high schools). The main results of this research were as follows. First, adolescents social withdrawal influenced negatively on their peer attachment. Second, the moderating effects of self-esteem on the relationship between social withdrawal and peer attachment of adolescents were verified. Finally, the differences of the moderating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between social withdrawal and peer attachment were confirmed according to school levels. That is, the self-esteem of middle and high school students showed a moderating effect in the relationship between social withdrawal and peer attachment, whereas that of elementary school students did not reveal any moderating effect. These findings represents that the effect of adolescents self-esteem buffering the negative impact of social withdrawal on their peer attachment may be dissimilar according to school levels. Therefore, the need for the development and implementation of educational programs at various school levels was suggested for the benefit of reducing the social withdrawal and promoting peer attachment of adolescents.
