R&E 탐구 과정 검토를 위한 SECE 컨설팅 모형의 제안 및 적용

국문 초록

R&E(Research and Education) 활동은 학생이 스스로 과학 탐구를 수행하는 자기주도적 연구 활동이다. 자기 주도적 탐구 과정에는 연구팀의 연구 과정을 점검하고 컨설팅을 제공해주는 전문가, 즉 컨설턴트의 지원이 포함된다. 본 연구에서는 R&E 활동에서 연구팀의 연구개선을 위한 컨설팅 지원을 목적으로, R&E 탐구 과정 검토를 위한 SECE 컨설팅 모형을 제안하였다. 컨설팅 모형은 상황제시, 문제탐색, 문제해결을 위한 추진전략 제안, 실행방법 설계의 4개의 전략을 포함하고 있으며, 각 전 략을 기반으로 컨설팅 가이드라인을 개발하였다. 이를 STEAM R&E의 온라인 컨설팅에 적용하여 컨설팅 내용을 분석하였다. 또한 컨설턴트와 지도교사의 인식조사를 실시하여 컨설턴트의 자문활동에 미친 영향과 연구팀의 연구개선에의 효과를 알아 보았다. 연구 결과, 컨설턴트는 각 전략별 하위 문항에 따라 연구 과정을 검토하였으며, 연구팀이 지닌 문제점과 어려움을 파악하여 그에 대한 피드백을 제공하였다. 컨설턴트들은 본 컨설팅 모형이 연구팀의 연구내용을 파악하고 검토하는 데에 유용하 다고 인식하였고, 지도교사들도 컨설팅 내용이 연구개선에 효과적이었다고 인식하고 있음이 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 R&E 활동에서 컨설팅 가이드라인의 활용 가능성과 컨설턴트의 역할에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Enhancing students’ inquiry skill has been one of the most important goals of science education. Through R&E (Research and Education) project, students experience self-directed research process. R&E activities involve the support of an expert group, or consultants. They review the research process and provides consulting services. In this study, we proposed a SECE consulting model for reviewing the R&E inquiry process in order to support the consulting activities that help students’ research activity. The SECE model includes four strategies: Scan, Explore, Create and Execute. A consulting guideline was developed for each strategy. We administered the guideline to STEAM R&E research team and 33 consultants. Through the online consulting, consultants reviewed research reports and provided consulting based on the consulting guideline. A total of 117 consulting results were collected. We also conducted an survey for consultants and teachers of the R&E team to investigate the effects of consulting guideline. The results showed that consultants reviewed the research process according to the detailed questions of SECE strategy and identified the difficulties and problems of the research team and the guideline helped consultants to provide feedback. The results of the survey revealed that consultants considered the SECE model useful in reviewing and assessing the research team’s work. Also, the participating teachers noted that the consulting results was effective in improving their research process. Based on the results, we proposed the availability of consulting guidelines and the role of consultants in R&E activities.
