간호학 대학원생의 성찰저널에서의 글쓰기 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 간호학 대학원 수업에서 성찰저널을 이용하여 학생들의 글쓰기 특성과 경험을 분석함으로써 학습에 미치는 효과를 탐색하는데 있다. 연구 자료는 일개 대학교의 간호학 대학원 수업을 수강한 14명 학생들이 제출한 126개의 성찰저 널과 5명의 학생에 대한 면담이었다. 분석 결과, 글쓰기 대상은 간호와 학습내용 등 자신과 심리적으로 거리가 먼 주제에 대한 서술이 주를 이루었다. 글쓰기 목적에서 도 회고나 반성의 빈도가 가장 낮아 개인적 자아와 가까워질수록 서술 빈도가 낮은 반면 향후 계획이나 학습연계의 비율은 높았다. 글쓰기 형식에서는 연역적 글쓰기가 많았으며 이 경우 서론, 본론, 결론의 구조를 모두 갖추고 있었다. 한편, 근거를 바탕 으로 한 의견 제시가 주관적 글쓰기 비율보다 낮았고 구조를 전혀 갖추지 못하거나 형식을 파악하기 어려운 글쓰기도 있었다. 글쓰기 오류에서도 비판적 사고에 반하는 논증 오류가 빈번하게 나타남으로써 학술적 글쓰기 교육의 필요성이 제기되었다. 질 적 자료 분석 결과, 성찰적 글쓰기를 하면서 겪은 변화에는 ‘글쓰기의 수월성’, ‘자아 인식의 확대’, ‘이론과 실무의 연계’ 등의 3가지 주제가 도출되었다. 결론적으로 학생 들은 성찰저널의 작성과 공유를 통해 자아인식을 확대할 수 있었으며 성찰저널을 통해 학술적 글쓰기를 함양할 수 있음이 시사되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of writing in graduate nursing students’ reflective journals and to examine the students’ experiences of journal writing in order to explore its effect on their learning. The data analyzed consisted of 216 reflective journals from 14 graduate nursing students and interviews with five of them. The results showed that the most frequent writing subjects described were ‘nursing’ and ‘learning contents’, which are both impersonal. ‘Reflection’ in the purpose of writing was illustrated the least, indicating that the rate of writing was lower if the subjects were more personal. In comparison, the ‘planning’ or the ‘application of their learning’ was more noticeable in the writing. The introduction, body, and conclusion of the journals were well all structured often with deductive writing. The rate of subjective writing was higher than that of logical evidence based opinion. and some journals were not well structured or their format was hard to distinguish. Many students frequently committed logical fallacies against critical thinking which implicates that the education of academic writing is necessary for graduate students. The changes experienced by many through their reflective writing were categorized into excellence in writing , the expansion of self-awareness , and liaison between theory and practice . In conclusion, findings showed that reflective journal writing helps students to recognize the extent to which self-awareness can be expanded by hands-on practice and enables students to improve their academic writing.
