다문화 배경 학습자의 학업 적응을 위한 감정 어휘 교육 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 저학년 다문화 배경 학습자의 학업 적응을 위한 감정 어휘 교육 방안을 마련하는데 목적을 두었다. 이 시기는 교과 학습의 준비기, 학교생활에 대한 적응이 필요한 시기로 이때 교과 학습 및 학교생활에 적응이 이루어지지 않으면 학업 능력이 뒤떨어지는 경우가 생길 수 있는 중요한 시기이다. 본고에서는 범교과적이며 도구 교과적인 성격을 지닌 국어과의 핵심 역량을 함양하는 것이 중요하다고 보고 초등학교 1~2학년 시기에 의사소통 역량과 공동체ㆍ대인 관계 역량이 필요함을 확인하였다. 학업 적응을 위해서는 공동체 내에서 의사소통을 원활히 하는 것이 필요한데 다문화 배경 학습자들 중에는 정서적으로 불안정하고 심리적으로 위축 되어 자신의 감정을 적극적으로 표현하지 못하는 경우가 많았다. 이에 감정 어휘의 체계적 교육을 통해 핵심 역량을 키울 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 구체적으로 초등 학교 1~2학년 국어 교과서에 수록된 감정 어휘의 목록과 빈도수, 감정 어휘가 제시된 위치 및 텍스트, 감정 어휘가 제시된 구어 상황을 분석하여 학습자들이 어떠한 상 황에서 감정 어휘를 사용할 수 있어야 하는지를 확인하였다. 또한 다문화 배경 학습 자가 생산해 낸 일기 자료 36편을 살펴본 결과 이들의 감정 어휘 사용이 매우 한정적이었고 어휘 사용에 어려움을 겪고 있었으며 문장의 구조가 단순하였음을 확인하였다. 본고에서는 이를 바탕으로 다문화 배경 학습자의 인지적, 언어적, 정의적 특성을 고려한 감정 어휘 교육이 이루어질 필요가 있음을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study targets on children from multi-cultural family especially who are in grade 1 to 2 of elementary school and need to adapt themselves to school life, focused on helping them learn vocabulary about emotions. It is very critical for them because they might lag behind in school if they don t have enough chance to prepare upcoming classes or school life at this phase. Also, it is important for them to communicate and have good relationships with friends at the beginning of their school lives. That is the reason we think that learning native language, which involves with many other school subjects, works as a tool and plays an important role for them. Unfortunately however, many of students from multi-cultural family are not able to express their emotions properly because they feel insecure and intimidated. That s why we started this project. To this end, we have worked to figure out necessary vocabulary for right circumstances considering all of the lists and frequency of the words about emotions, texts and circumstances from textbooks for elementary students in grade 1 to 2. Moreover, we checked out 36 journals written by 6 students to find out some interesting results. Those students not only have problems using various words when expressing their emotions, but also have difficulties in choosing vocabulary. They make limited sentences as well. Based on the data, we propose right education for students from multi-cultural family through teaching emotional vocabulary in considering their cognitive, verbal and emotional characteristics.
