Concepts and Measurements of Educational Alienation in Lifelong Education

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육소외 측정도구를 개발하기 위한 기초연구자료로써 지금까지 교육과 관련되어 연구되어온 다양한 통계자료를 비판적으로 검토하고, 어떠한 지표가 교육소외를 측정할 수 있는 잣대로 쓰일 수 있는지에 있고 그 활용가능성은 어떠한지 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 교육통계연보, 고등교육기관 졸업자 취업통계연보, 간추린 교육통계, OECD 교육지표, 교육통계분석자료집, 한국의 인적자원개발지표를 분석하였고, 각각의 통계지표가 제시하는 값을 기준으로 특정 개인이나 조직이 교육소외에 해당하는지의 여부를 판단하였다. 분석결과 국민 전체의 평균교육년수나 기대 교육수준, 학력수준별 인구구성비, 그리고 미충족 여부, 역량 관점에서 성취도에 미달하는 정도 등을 측정하는 것이 교육소외를 측정하는 데에 유의미한 조사항목이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나 평생학습사회가 도래함에 따라 절대적, 객관적인 교육소외뿐만 아니라 상대적, 주관적인 개념의 교육소외를 측정하는 방식도 필요하기 때문에 교육소외 측정도구는 단일한 지표로 된 항목보다는 복합적인 측정 항목으로 측정하는 것이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate various statistical data that has been gathered in relation to education as basic research data for development of educational alienation measurement tool and to find out what indicators can be used to measure the educational alienation. To do this, the researchers analyzed the statistical yearbook of education, the statistical yearbook of employment of higher education graduates, OECD education index, and human resource development index of Korea. Based on the value of each statistical index, and whether or not the organization is alienated from education, it was found out that measuring the average number of years of education, the expected education level, the population composition by education level, the degree of unmet status, and the degree of underachievement in terms of competence are the indicators that can be used to measure educational alienation. However, as the lifelong learning society comes, it is necessary to measure not only absolute and objective education alienation but also relative and subjective concept of educational alienation. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize the educational alienation measurement tool as a composite measure rather than a single indicator.
