국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 S대학교 글로벌지역학부 전공선택 과목 중 하나인 글로벌 커뮤니케이션 잉글리시의 효과적인 수업을 제안하고자 한다. 이 과목은 일종의 비즈니스 영어이며, 2학년 학생들을 대상으로 한다. 이 과목의 학습 목표는 비즈니스 상황에서 의사소통 능력을 향상시키는데 있다. A 연구자와 B 연구자는 매 학기 이 과목을 지도하였고 이 연구에서는 2018년 2학기 수업절차를 제시하였다. 두 연구자는 교재와 수업 진도 범위를 동일하게 진행하였고, 영어 프레젠테이션, 역할극을 동일하게 평가 대상으로 삼았다. 그리고 연구자들은 학생들의 동료평가를 시행하였다. 학생들은 이 방법으로 자신들의 부족한 부분을 성찰하는 기회를 가졌다. 연구자는 구체적으로 설문지를 조사하였고 ‘인턴’ 영화와 부교재를 활용하였으며 영어와 한국어를 혼용하여 진행하였다. 반면에 호주 국적을 가진 다른 연구자는 영어로만 수업을 진행하였다. 이 수업 제안은 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 유도한 학습자 중심의 모형이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest an effective teaching-learning model of Global Communication English, which is one of S University’s major elective subjects in the Division of Area Studies. This course is a kind of Business English, targeting the sophomore-year students. The learning objectives of this course are to improve communication competence in business situations. A researcher and B researcher have taught students in this course every semester, and this study has presented the second-semester curriculum of 2018. Both the researchers have applied the same curriculum in the classroom and set English presentation and the role play as a criteria for evaluation. And the researchers conducted peer evaluation for students. They had the opportunity to reflect on their shortcomings in this way. The first researcher specifically conducted a survey, utilized ‘The Intern’ films and other supplementary textbooks in the classroom, using English and Korean together. Meanwhile, the other researcher, with an Australian background, taught the students only in English. The proposal for this class is the learner-oriented model inducing students’ active participation in class.
