국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국노동연구원의 2016년도 고령화 연구패널조사(Korean Longitudinal of Ageing) 자료를 사용하여 65세 이상 여성 독거노인 363명을 대상으로 삶의 만족도에 효과를 미치는 변인 간의 관계를 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 가구총소득, 사회적 계층의식, 친목활동, 우울, 삶의 만족도의 모형을 구축하고 SPSS, AMOS 프로그램을 사용하여 상관분석과 경로분석을 실시하였다. 연구 분석결과, 첫째, 여성 독거노인들의 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 요인은 사회적 계층의식과 우울 변인으로 확인되었다. 가구총소득은 친목활동에 부적영향을 미치고 우울에는 정적영향을 미치며, 삶의 만족도에는 유의미한 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 그리고 사회적 계층의식은 친목활동에 유의미한 영향을 나타내지 않았으며, 우울과 삶의 만족도에는 유의미한 정적영향을 나타냈다. 둘째, 친목활동은 여성 독거노인의 삶의 만족에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 우울은 삶의 만족도에 직접적으로 유의미한 정적영향을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 가구총소득과 사회적 계층의식은 우울을 매개로 하여 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 나타냈다. 즉, 가구총소득과 친목활동은 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 가구총소득과 사회적 계층의식은 우울을 매개로 하여 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 나타냈으므로 우울 변인은 삶의 만족도에 이어 중요한 변인임을 확인하였다. 이에 지역사회 조직의 멘토를 연계하여 교제하도록 하고 원활한 소그룹 활동으로 삶의 만족을 위한 정서적 소통과 지지가 계속해서 이루어지도록 해야 한다. 또한, 지역의 기업이나 종교기관, 복지 및 교육기관에서는 상호적 커뮤니티를 구축하고 지역 통합 네트워크 지원센터를 운영하여 사회적 계층의식의 긍정적 전환에 필요한 교육을 활성화하도록 해야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the causal relationships among factors effecting the life satisfaction in elderly women living alone based Korean Longitudinal of Ageing on the 2016 survey data of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing conducted by the Korea Labor Institute. A total of 363 elderly women aged 65 years or older and living alone were surveyed in the study. The study constructed a model for total household income, social class identification, socializing activities, depression, and life satisfaction and conducted a correlation analysis and a path analysis using the SPSS and AMOS programs. The results of the analyses are as follow. First, social class identification and depression directly affected the life satisfaction in the elderly women. Total household income showed a negative effect on socializing activities, a positive effect on depression, and no significant effect on the life satisfaction. Social class identification had no significant impact on socializing activities while showing a significant positive effect on depression and the life satisfaction. Second, socializing activities did not directly affect the life satisfaction in the elderly women. Third, depression turned out to have a direct and significant positive effect on the life satisfaction. Fourth, total household income and social class identification had a significant effect on the life satisfaction through the mediation of depression. In other words, total household income and socializing activities did not directly affected the life satisfaction, while total household income and social class identification showed a significant effect on the life satisfaction through the mediation of depression, which demonstrated that depression is an important variable to the life satisfaction. Therefore, It is important to connect local mentors and the elderly to promote their interaction and encourage smooth small group activities so that they will continue to pursue emotional communication and support for a high level of the life satisfaction. In addition, local enterprises and religious, welfare and educational institutions should establish interactive communities and operate integrated regional network support centers to revitalize the education necessary for enhancing the social class identification of the elderly women living alone.
