잠재프로파일 분석을 통한 중학생의 교육성과 유형 분류 및 특성 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 중학생의 학업성취도와 학교행복감에 따른 잠재프로파일이 어떻게 분류되는지 알아보고, 각 잠재프로파일이 가지는 특성을 학생 개인, 가정, 그리고 학교 생활 변인으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 방법 부산교육정책연구소의 ｢부산교육종단연구 2016(Busan Education Longitudinal Study 2016; BELS 2016)｣의 제3차년도(2018년) 중학생 자료(n=2,294)를 활용하여 잠재프로파일 분석(Latent Profile Analysis; LPA)과 차이분석을 실시하였다. 결과 교육성과에 따른 중학생의 잠재프로파일은 ‘성취도(고)-행복감(최고)’, ‘성취도(고)-행복감(중)’, ‘성취도(저)-행복감(저)’, ‘성취도(저)-행복감(최저)’ 집단 등 4개로 분류되었다. 분류된 잠재프로파일별 학생의 특성을 학생 개인, 가정, 그리고 학교 생활 변수를 중심으로 구분하여 살펴본 결과, 각각의 특성은 분류된 잠재프로파일에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구에서는 주요 연구 결과를 바탕으로 분류된 잠재프로파일별 교육성과를 향상시키기 위한 교육 정책적 시사점을 도출하고 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to classify the latent profile of middle school students academic achievement and school happiness and to analyze characteristics of latent profiles with individual background, family, and school life experience. Methods Drawing on third wave data of the middle school panels (N=2,294) from the Busan Education Longitudinal Study 2016(BELS 2016) of Busan Education Policy Institute, this study conducted latent profile analysis(LPA) and identified the differences between the latent groups. Results As a result of the analysis, the four latent profiles classificated according to middle school students educational outcomes were as follows: ‘achievement(high)-happiness(highest)’, ‘achievement(high)-happiness(medium)’, ‘achievement(low)-happiness(low)’, and ‘achievement(low)-happiness(lowest)’. There were statistically significant differences in individual, family, and school life variables between the classified latent profiles. Conclusions Based on the result, the educational policy implications for the improvement of educational outcomes for classified latent profiles were discussed.
