국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 맞벌이 부모의 양육효능감과 일-가정양립, 아동의 행복감 간 구조적 관계를 살펴보고, 부모의 양육효능감이 일-가정양립을 매개하여 아동의 행복감에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 한국아동패널 9차 년도(2016) 총 1,346명의 자료를 활용하여 맞벌이 부모의 양육효능감(예측변인), 일-가정 양립(매개변인), 아동의 행복감(종속변인) 간의 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 델타방법(delta method)를 통하여 일-가정양립의 매개변인 간접효과를 살펴보았다. 결과 본 연구의 결과, 첫째 부모의 양육효능감은 부모의 일-가정 양립에 모두 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아버지의 양육효능감은 아동의 행복감에 유의미한 영향을 나타내지 않는 반면에 어머니의 양육효능감은 아동의 행복감에 유의미한 부적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째 아버지와 어머니의 양육효능감은 어머니의 일-가정양립을 매개하여 아동의 행복감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 시사점은 맞벌이 가정에서 아버지의 양육 참여 및 양육효능감의 중요성을 강조하며, 맞벌이 가정의 어머니 일-가정양립을 지원하기 위한 가족 정책 마련의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study investigated the structural relationships among the paternal and maternal parenting sense of competence, the work-family balance, and children’s happiness and whether the paternal and maternal parenting sense of competence has indirect effects on children s happiness by mediating the work-family balance. Methods This study used the 9th Panel Study on Korean Children and analyzed the data collected from 1,346 children. For this study, the data(working parents, parenting sense of competence, work-family balance and children’s happiness) were analyzed by structural equational modeling(SEM) and delta method to examine structural relationships and mediating effects. Results The results showed: First, the paternal and maternal parenting sense of competence has significant effects on the work-family balance. The paternal parenting sense of competence has no significant effect on children’s happiness. The maternal parenting sense of competence has a negative effect on children’s happiness. Second, the working parents’ parenting sense of competence had indirect effects on children’s happiness by mediating the maternal work-family balance. The maternal work-family balance is found to be mediating the relationships between the working parents’ parenting sense of competence and the children s happiness. Conclusions This study strongly endorses paternal parenting and their parenting sense of competence, suggesting that there should be family-friendly policies and appropriate parent education programs to support the work-family balance within two-income households.
