중학생의 사회적 자본이 정신건강에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본연구는 중학생의 사회적 자본이 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이런 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개 영향을 파악하여 중학생 정신건강 증진을 위한 방안 마련을 목적으로 한다. 방법 연구대상은 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사(2018m1)의 1차 자료에 응답한 중학생 1,715명이며, 자료 분석은 SPSS V. 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 통계 분석하였다. 먼저 통계분석은 측정 도구의 신뢰도 분석, 기술통계 분석, 상관분석을 하였다. 다음으로 매개 효과는 Baron & Kenny의 3단계 절차로 분석하였다. 결과 중학생의 사회적 자본이 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서 교사 자본이 가장 많은 영향을 미치며, 친구 자본, 부모 자본의 순으로 영향을 미치며, 사회활동 자본은 직접 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향은 교사 자본, 부모 자본, 친구 자본, 사회활동 자본의 순으로 영향을 미치며, 자아존중감이 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본과 정신건강 간의 관계에서 자아존중감은 모두 매개 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 중학생의 정신건강을 향상을 위한 방안은 사회적 자본과 자아존중감을 높이는 방안과 교사와 학생 관계 중심의 학습을 위한 환경조성 마련 등이 필요하겠다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of middle school students social capital on mental health and to identify the mediating effect of self-esteem in this relationship to prepare measures to promote mental health of middle school students. Methods The subjects of the study were 1,715 middle school students in the primary data of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (2018 m1), and the data analysis was statistically analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. First, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, and correlation analysis of measurement tools were performed. The mediating effect was analyzed by Baron & Kenny s three-step procedure. Results It was found that the social capital of middle school students had an effect on mental health in the order of teacher capital, friend capital, and parent capital, and social activity capital did not have a direct effect. It was found that the influence of social capital on self-esteem affects teacher capital, parent capital, friend capital, and social activity capital in the order of teacher capital, and self-esteem affects mental health. In the relationship between social capital and mental health, both self-esteem was found to have a mediating effect. Conclusions The counseling program to improve the mental health of middle school students is to increase social capital and self-esteem. It is necessary to create an environment for learning centered on teacher-student relationships.
