중⋅고등학교 보건교사의 COVID-19 관련 직무 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 중⋅고등학교 보건교사를 대상으로 COVID-19 관련 직무 경험을 탐구하고 그 본질과 의미를 발견하고자 한다. 방법 본 연구는 개별 심층면담을 통한 현상학적 연구로 Colaizzi가 제시한 분석방법을 사용하였다. 자료는 2021년 11월부터 12월까지 중⋅고등학교 보건교사 10명을 대상으로 수집하였다. 결과 연구참여자들은 모두 여성이었고, 평균 연령은 45.50±9.06세였다. 보건교사의 직무 경험은 3개의 주제와 9개의 하위주제로 구성되었다. 첫 번째 주제는 혼란스러움으로 시작된 힘겨운 싸움이었고, 이에 대한 하위주제로는 업무의 폭증, 변화가 너무 심해 따라가지 못함, 학생과 학부모의 비협조, 몸과 마음이 함께 지쳐감이 도출되었다. 두 번째 주제는 변화의 과정이었으며, 이에 대한 하위주제는 달라진 기존의 보건업무, 비대면으로 인한 변화들, 혼자가 아니라 함께하기 모색으로 나타났다. 세 번째 주제는 새로운 역할과 관계에 익숙해짐이었고, 이에 대한 하위주제는 점점 체계화되는 업무와 주변과 나 자신의 변화가 보고되었다. 결론 본 연구결과는 COVID-19 전염병 위기에서 보건교사의 직무 경험에 대한 이해를 제공한다. 또한 이는 학교 보건정책 개선과 보건교사의 보건업무 수행 지원을 위한 정책 마련의 중요성을 나타낸다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study was conducted to describe the job experience of middle and high school nurse in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods This study was a phenomenological study using individual in-depth interviews. Colaizzi’s phenomenological methodology was used. And data were collected form 10 school nurses in middle and high schools from November to December, 2021. Results Participants were all females and the average age was 45.50 ± 9.06 years old. Their job experiences of the school nurses were composed of three themes and nine subthemes. The first theme was struggles that started with confusion, and its subthemes were the explosion of work, the change too much to keep up with, the non-cooperation of students and parents, and the feeling of exhaustion both physically and mentally. The second theme was the process of change, and the sub-themes were changes in the existing healthcare work, changes due to non-face-to-face, and seeking to be together rather than alone. The third theme was getting used to new roles and relationships, and the sub-themes were increasingly systematized work and changes in my surroundings and myself. Conclusions The study findings provide understanding of job experiences of school nurses under COVID-19 pandemic crisis. It indicates the importance of improving school health related policies and preparing policies to support school nurses’ health work performances.
