보드게임을 활용한 독서토론이 교육복지대상 초등학생의 독서흥미 및 사회성에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 보드게임을 활용한 독서토론 프로그램이 교육복지대상 초등학생의 독서흥미와 사회성에 미치는 효과를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 연구대상은 초등학교 2개교의 3, 4학년 40명으로 10차시로 구성된 보드게임을 활용한 독서토론 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단 20명과 프로그램에 참여하지 않은 통제집단 20명으로 이루어져 있다. 자료처리는 SPSS 26.0을 사용하였으며, 집단 간의 동질성을 파악하기 위해 T-검증과 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하기 위해 공분산분석을 실시하였다. 결과 분석결과에 따르면 첫째, 보드게임을 활용한 독서토론 프로그램은 교육복지대상 초등학생의 독서흥미에 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 독서흥미의 하위요인인 독서 흥미도와 독서 동기는 증가하였으며, 독서 방해요인은 감소하였다. 반면에 독서 필요성은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 보드게임을 활용한 독서토론 프로그램은 교육복지대상 초등학생의 사회성에 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 사회성의 하위요인인 협동성, 주장성, 공감과 자기조절이 모두 유의미하게 증가하였다. 결론 본 연구는 교육복지 초등학생을 대상으로 한 독서토론 프로그램의 효과를 검증함으로써 교육 불평등을 해소할 수 있는 독서지도 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료로 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the reading discussion program using board games on the reading interest and sociality of elementary school students in education welfare. Methods The subjects of this study consisted of 40 students in the 3rd and 4th grades of 2 elementary schools, an experimental group of 20 students who participated in a reading discussion program using a board game composed of 10 sessions, and a control group of 20 students who did not participate in the program. SPSS 26.0 was used for data processing, and T-test was conducted to determine the homogeneity between groups, and analysis of covariance was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the program. Results According to the analysis results, first, the reading discussion program using board games had a significant effect on the reading interest of elementary school students in education welfare. Interest in reading and reading motivation, which are the sub-scales of reading interest, increased, while reading obstruction decreased. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the need for reading. Second, the reading discussion program using board games had a significant effect on the sociality of elementary school students in education welfare. Cooperation, assertiveness, empathy, and self-regulation, which are sub-scales of sociality, all significantly increased. Conclusions This study is meaningful in that it can provide basic data for the development of a reading instruction program that can resolve educational inequality by verifying the effectiveness of the reading discussion program for elementary school students in education welfare.
