영국 ‘협동조합학교’ 특징을 지닌 동해삼육학교협동조합운영 사례연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 교육혁신의 모범사례가 되는 영국 ‘협동조합학교’와 유사한 특징을 띤 학교협동조합이 국내에서 운영되고 있는 사례를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 동해삼육학교협동조합의 조합원을 대상으로 사례연구를 실시하였다. 자료는 학교협동조합이 운영되는 동안 2년에 걸쳐 꾸준히 수집되었고, 본격적인 조사는 2차에 거쳐 2019년 12월부터 2020년 9월까지 실시하였다. 수집한 자료에 대한 분석 및 인터뷰 결과를 토대로 영국의 ‘협동조합학교’의 특징과 같은지 살펴보았다. 결과 동해삼육학교협동조합은 영국 ‘협동조합학교’와 동일한 특징을 띠고 있음을 알 수 있다. 즉, 학교의 가치가 학교협동조합의 가치와 원칙을 포함하고 있으며, 학교의 교육과정은 학교협동조합과 관련된 교과를 배울 수 있도록 과목이 개설되고 있다. 또한 학생, 학부모, 교원, 지역인사 등 핵심관련인사들이 학교운영위원회와 학교협동조합이사회에 동시에 참여하고 있어서 학교구성원 모두가 학교와 학교협동조합의 주체로 구성되어 있었다. 결론 포스트 코로나 시대를 맞이하는 중등교육현장에서 교육구성원 모두가 교육의 주체가 되어 교육혁신을 이루어 가야 할 학교운영사례로서 학교협동조합의 역할에 대한 방향을 모색하는데 실증적 논의를 담아내고자 했다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to clarify the cases in which school co-operatives with the same characteristics as the British ‘cooperative school’, which is an exemplary case for educational innovation, are operated in Korea. Methods A case study was conducted on members of the ‘Donghae Samyook School Cooperative’. Data were collected steadily over two years during the operation of the school cooperative, and a full-fledged survey was conducted from December 2019 to September 2020. Based on the analysis and interview results of the collected data, we looked at whether it was the same characteristic of the ‘cooperative school’ in the UK. Results ‘Donghae Sahmyook School Cooperative’ is the UK s ‘Cooperative School’ can see that with the same characteristics. In other words, the value of the school included the values and principles of the school cooperative, and the curriculum of the school was being opened to learn the curriculum related to the school cooperative. In addition, key figures such as students, parents, teachers, and local personnel participated in the school management committee and the school cooperative board at the same time, so all school members were composed of the school and school cooperatives. Conclusions This study is an example of school management in which all education members should be the main agents of education and achieve educational innovation at secondary education facing the post-corona era. It is meaningful that it wanted to capture empirical discussions in seeking directions for the role of school cooperatives.
