재한 중국인 유학생의 문화적응 스트레스와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 국내 재학 중인 중국인 유학생의 문화적응 스트레스와 대학생활적응관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개 효과를 탐색하였다. 방법 서울 소재 대학에서 온⋅오프 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였고, 총 441명을 대상으로 기초분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 다중회귀분석결과 문화적응 스트레스와 기본심리욕구의 자율성, 유능성, 관계성은 대학생활적응을 유의하게 설명하였다. 대학생활적응의 하위변인별로 분석한 결과 문화적응 스트레스와 기본심리욕구의 자율성, 유능성, 관계성의 차별적인 설명력이 확인되었다. 문화적응 스트레스와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 자율성은 문화적응 스트레스와 대학생활적응의 사회적적응, 심리적부적응 및 대학만족도 관계에서 부분매개 효과를 확인하였고, 학업적적응을 설명하는데 완전매개 효과를 보고하였다. 관계성은 문화적응 스트레스와 대학생활적응 중 사회적적응과 대학만족도와의 관계에서 부분매개 효과를 보고하였다. 유능성의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 결론 본 연구는 중국인 유학생의 대학생활적응을 이해하는데 문화적응 스트레스와 기본심리욕구 변인 설명력의 차이를 확인하였고, 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 향후 대학 차원에서 중국인 유학생들의 문화적응을 도모하면서 기본심리욕구 충족을 높임으로써 대학생활적응을 높이는 개입의 중요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The present study examined the mediating effect of autonomy, competence, and relatedness in the relationship of acculturation stress to college adjustment among Chinese international students in Korea. Methods To this end, data was collected through an on-off questionnaire at a university located in Seoul, and multiple regression analysis was conducted on a total of 441 students. Results In multiple regression analyses, acculturation stress and the three fundamental human needs(autonomy, competence and relatedness) were reported a significant effect on the college adjustment, while autonomy was reported significant effects on academic adjustment, social adjustment, psychological problems and college satisfaction. The relatedness was reported significant effects on social adjustment, psychological problems and college satisfaction; the competence was shown significant effects on academic adjustment, social adjustment and college satisfaction. In mediating effect testing, both autonomy and relatedness was reported a partial mediating effect on the relation of acculturation stress and college adjustment. In addition, autonomy was reported a complete mediating effect on the relation of acculturation stress and academic adjustment, while relatedness was shown a partial mediating effect only on the relation of acculturation stress and social adjustment and college satisfaction. The mediating effect of competence was not statistically significant. Conclusions The results implied the necessity of strategies to satisfy the Chinsese students autonomy need, as well as enhancing relatedness need satisfaction attributing to college adjustment.
