대학생의 원격교육 경험에 대한 교육적 의미 탐색

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 대학에서의 원격교육을 대학생들의 학습경험에 초점을 맞추어 그 교육적 의미를 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 D시에 소재하고 있는 사립대학 재학생 79명의 원격교육경험에 대한 수업성찰지를 분석하였다. 결과 대학생들은 시⋅공간적 자유로움과 함께 바뀐 교육환경에 대한 불안과 적응의 어려움을 겪게 되며, 자기주도학습을 체험하게 되면서 학습에 대한 자기관리와 책임의 중요성도 인식하게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 수업 방식에서는 학습의 편의성과 효율성을, 평가에서는 공정성과 변별력을 중요하게 여기고 있었다. 효율적인 운영을 위해서는 학습자의 적극적인 참여와 책임이, 교수자의 학습자에 대한 배려와 의사소통능력이, 대학의 시스템 구축과 학습자 요구 수렴이 필요한 것으로 인식하였다. 결론 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 결론을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 원격교육은 이전과는 달라진 교육방법으로 대학생들에게 자신의 학습에 대한 객관적인 성찰의 기회를 제공하며 둘째, 자기주도학습 체험을 통해 학습자의 학습에 대한 자기관리와 책임의 중요성을 깨닫게 하고 셋째, 교수자-학습자 간 상호작용의 의미를 학문공동체적 관점에서 조망하는 계기를 제공한다. 넷째, 향후 대학은 학습자들의 교육에 대한 요구에 민감해야 하고 나아가 대학교육의 주체로서 대학생의 정체성을 인정할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study is to exploring the educational meaning of undergraduates’ experiene in distance education. Methods For this, class reflection paper was used for 79 undergraduates who were enrolled university located in D metropolitan. Results It was appear that undergraduates went to experience not only more freedom timely and spatially but difficulty adapting to changed learning environment by distance education. Also they came to realize the responsibility for learning themselves and importance of self-management in learning by experience self-direct learning. Undergraduates preferred convenience and efficiency in learning method and the fairness and discrimination in evaluation. In order to operate distance education, efficientlly, students should be participate in class actively and teachers must be sensitive to the learning situation of students. Also system for distance education must be build and students needs for learning should be supported at school level. Conclusions First, distance education is a different way of learning than before which allows undergraduates to objective reflect on their learning. Second, through self-directed learning experience through distance education, undergraduates realize the importance of self-management and responsibility for learning. Third, distance education provides undergraduates with the opportunity to realize the meaning of interactions between instructors and learner from an academic community perspective. Forth, in the future university administrators must be sensitive to the needs of learners for education and it is necessary to recognize the identity of undergraduates as the subject of university education.
