현직 교사들의 해외 교육봉사활동 지원을 위한 사전교육 요구분석 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 현직 교사들의 해외 교육봉사활동을 돕기 위한 사전교육 프로그램에 필요한 우선순위 교육내용을 도출하기 위해 이루어졌다. 방법 유⋅초⋅중⋅고 현직 교사를 대상으로 배포한 500부 중 회수된 385부를 최종 분석대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 대응표본 t 검정과 보리치 요구도 분석을 실시하였고, 보다 엄밀한 우선순위 분석을 위해 Locus for Focus 모델을 통해 최우선 순위 및 차우선 순위 항목을 도출하였다. 결과 도출된 최우선 순위 항목은 총 6개로, ‘질병예방 및 응급처치’, ‘해외에서의 개인 안전 관리’, ‘개발도상국의 사회 및 문화 이해’, ‘봉사활동 계획 수립’, ‘개발도상국 또는 파견 예정국가 현장 경험’, ‘글로벌 의사소통 능력’이었고, 차순위 항목은 ‘파견지 현지어 구사 능력’, ‘국제개발협력 방법론 이해’, ‘국제개발협력 분야별 이슈 이해’, ‘자원봉사자의 역할과 자세’, ‘봉사활동 파견분야에 대한 전문성 역량 강화’, ‘세계 종교의 이해’로 분석되었다. 결론 교육전문가인 현직 교사가 질 높은 해외봉사활동을 효과적으로 할 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 사전교육 프로그램에 보건 및 안전 교육, 파견국 이해, 봉사 실무 교육, 언어 및 의사소통 능력, 국제개발협력 등과 관련된 내용이 우선적으로 포함되어야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to assess training needs for in-service teachers on overseas educational volunteer activity, and to analyze the priority of the training needs of them. Methods This study was conducted with 385 respondents’ data responded by Korean in-service teachers. The paired t-test and the Borich Needs Assessment were performed with the data. For the priority analysis on the training needs, the first priority items and the second priority items were analyzed by the Locus for Focus model. Results The first priority items found by this study are 6 items in total, ‘Disease prevention (vaccination) and first aid’, ‘Safety and security education for overseas life’, ‘Understanding the society and culture of the partner country’, ‘Volunteer activity plan establishment’, ‘Pre-experience on site of partner country or developing country’, and ‘Global communication skills’. Conclusions This study suggested that the following actions to support in-service teachers on the overseas educational volunteer activity; the priority items found by this study regarding health and security, understanding the partner country, volunteer activity planning, pre-experience on site of partner country, and global communication skills have to be incorporated in the volunteer pre-training program for them.
