학생설계전공 활성화를 위한 기초연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 대학교육 패러다임의 변화와 학습자의 자기주도학습의 중요성에 따라 논의되고 있는 학생설계전공에 대한 이론적 탐색 및 학생설계전공 제도를 운영하고 있는 대학에서의 학생설계전공제도 활성화에 도움을 줄 수 있는 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 학생설계전공의 개념적 이해와 교육적 의미를 문헌분석을 통해 살펴보고, 국내외 대학의 홈페이지와 학칙 등을 통해 학생설계전공 교육과정에 대한 사례조사를 하였다. 그 다음 현재 학생설계전공의 확산을 시도하고 있는 서울 소재 G 대학교의 학생들을 대상으로 학생설계전공에 대한 인식을 점검하는 예비조사를 실시하고 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학생설계전공에 대한 학생들의 인지도와 학생 참여 사례와 경험은 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 학생설계전공의 성패를 결정하는 중요한 요소는 학생들의 자기주도성과 대학의 지원 노력이라고 볼 수 있다. 학생설계전공 교육과정을 개발과 운영에 학생의 자율적인 주도성이 강조되는 만큼 이에 상응하는 대학 차원의 노력과 지속적인 지원이 필요하다. 이러한 전제 하에 학생설계전공제도의 활성화를 위한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교수자의 지속적인 지도 관리와 행정적 지원 시스템이 뒷받침되어야 한다. 구체적인 가이드라인 제시를 통한 대학으로부터의 교육과정 개발과 학생으로부터의 교육과정 개발을 병행하여 운영한다. 둘째, 학생들의 경험과 모범사례를 모니터링하고 공유함으로써 학생들이 학생설계전공을 시도하고 그 과정에서 직면할 수 있는 어려움을 해결할 수 있도록 돕는다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to derive implications that can help the universities activate student designed majors by exploring student designed majors. To this end, For this, first, The conceptual understanding and educational meaning of the student design major are reviewed through literature analysis and a case study was conducted on the curriculum of student designed majors at home and abroad through homepages and school rules of domestic and foreign universities. Then, a survey was conducted to collect opinions on student designed majors for students at G University in Seoul, which are currently trying to spread student designed majors. As a result of literature analysis, a case study and the questionnaire analysis, it was found that the university prepared a system suitable for the purpose of the student designed major, but lacked students recognition and student participation cases and experiences in the student designed major due to lack of publicity, etc. An important factor in determining the success or failure of a student designed major is the students self-directedness and the university s support efforts. As the autonomous initiative of the students is emphasized in the development and operation of the student designed major curriculum, it is necessary to make efforts at the university level and continue support. Under this premise, the following are suggestions for successful operation of the student designed major. First, the curriculum is developed from the university and from the students in parallel through the presentation of specific guidelines. Second, students experiences and best practices are monitored and shared to help students challenge to student designed major and solve the difficulties they may face in the process.
