유아기 또래 놀이행동 및 학업능력이 초등기 학교적응에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아시기의 또래 놀이행동과 학업능력이 초등입학 이후 학교적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 육아정책연구소의 종단연구 자료인 한국아동패널(Panel Study on Korea Children, PSKC) 7차년도(2014) 데이터와 10차년도(2017) 데이터를 사용하였으며 7차년도 자료의 만 5세 유아 중, 10차년도까지 패널이 유지된 초등학교 3학년 아동 474명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 변인별 조사 시점에 따라, 유아기 또래 놀이행동과 학업능력은 7차 데이터를, 초등기 학교적응은 10차 데이터를 사용하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS 23.0을 사용하여 변수 간의 상관계수를 산출하였으며 중다회귀분석을 실시하여 유아기 놀이행동과 학업능력이 초등시기 학교적응에 미치는 영향력을 확인하였다. 연구 결과 유아시기의 또래 놀이행동과 학업능력은 초등기의 학교적응에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 특히 유아기의 또래 놀이행동은 초등시기 학교적응 중 전 영역에서 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 유아기의 학업능력은 초등학교적응 전체에서는 영향을 미쳤으나 하위 영역 중에서는 학업 수행능력에만 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of early childhood peer play behavior and academic ability on school adaptation after elementary school entrance. In order to analyze the data, we used data from the 7th year (2014) and 10th year (2017) of the Panel Study on Korea Children (PSKC). The subjects of the study were 474 3rd grade elementary school children whose panels were maintained until the 10th year among the 5 year old infants surveyed in the 7th year. According to the survey time for each variable, 7th data were used for early childhood play behavior and academic ability, and 10th data were used for primary school adaptation. For the analysis of the data, correlation coefficients between variables were calculated using SPSS 23.0, and multiple regression analysis was conducted to confirm the effect of early childhood play behavior and academic ability on elementary school adaptation. The results showed that peer play behavior and academic ability in early childhood had a direct influence on school adaptation in elementary school. On the other hand, the academic ability of the early childhood had an effect on the whole elementary school adaptation, but only the academic performance in the sub-area of elementary school adaptation.
