문학교육 제재로서 박완서 소설의 수록 양상 고찰

국문 초록

이 논문은 박완서의 여러 소설 작품에 주목하여 작품이 교과서의 학습 제재로 쓰일 때 교육적 구체화 양상을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석 대상은 현행 고등학교 국어과 교육과정에 해당하는 2015 개정 교육과정 및 2012 개정 교육과정 시기의 『국어』와 『문학』 교과서이다. 자료의 탐색을 통해 귀납적으로 도출한 범주는 수사학적 접근, 사회·문화적 맥락의 고려, 텍스트의 자기화, 심미적 삶에 대한 고찰이 다. 분석 결과 박완서의 작품은 사회·문화적 맥락의 고려와 관련된 학습내용을 다룰때 가장 많이 쓰이고 있었다. 박완서 소설의 분단소설적·세태소설적 특징은 문학교 육에서 주목하는 문학과 사회의 관계, 공동체 문화, 자아를 둘러싼 세계와의 소통 등을 학습하기에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 2015 개정 교육과정기에서 두드러진 특징으로 텍스트의 자기화를 들 수 있다. 박완서의 소설은 자전적 체험을 바탕으로 하여 각 연령대별 성장담을 충실하게 재현하고 있으며 타자와의 관계에 대한 성찰이 내밀하게 드러나 청소년기 학습자가 문학작품을 경유하여 자신의 삶을 돌아보고 연관성을 탐구하기에 적절하다. 그에 비해 수사학적 접근과 관련하여 박완서 작품이 교육 제재로 선정된 경우는 그 횟수가 2012 개정 교육과정기에 비해 줄어들었으며, 심미적 삶에 대한 고찰의 영역 또한 2015 개정 교육과정기 교과서에서는 보이지 않았다. 이상의 고찰을 바탕으로 박완서 작품을 문학교육의 제재로 삼을 때 고려할 점으로 첫째, 사회적 맥락의 고려 차원에서 박완서의 작품을 다룰 때 보다 풍부한 곁텍 스트를 활용할 것을 제안하였고, 둘째, 텍스트의 자기화와 관련하여 박완서 소설이 다룬 다양한 주제로 폭을 넓혀 노년과 죽음을 다룬 소설 등도 교육 제재로 삼을 수있음을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This paper focuses on various novels of Park Wanseo and aims at examining the aspect of educational materialization when the works are used as learning materials of textbooks. The subjects of analysis are “Korean language” and “Literature” textbooks of the 2015 revised curriculum and the 2012 revised curriculum of the current high school Korean language curriculum. The categories derived from the research of data are ‘rhetorical approach’, ‘consideration of social and cultural context’, ‘personalization of text’, and ‘contemplation of aesthetic life’. As a result of analysis, Park’s work was most often used when dealing with learning contents related to consideration of social and cultural context. The characteristics deal with division narrative and manners narrative of Park Wanseo’s novels were found to be suitable for learning about the relationship between literature and society, community culture, and communication with the world around self. And the prominent feature of the 2015 revised curriculum is ‘personalization of text’. Park Wanseo’s novels faithfully represent the growth stories of each age based on the autobiographical experience, and her novels reveal introspection about the relationship with the other, so that adolescent learners can look back on their lives through literary works. On the other hand, the number of times that Park Wanseo’s work was selected as an educational material in relation to the ‘rhetorical approach’ was reduced compared to the revised curriculum period of 2012, and the area of ‘contemplation of aesthetic life’ was also not seen in textbook of 2015 revised curriculum. Based on the above analysis, the following points should be considered when making Park Wanseo’s works as a material for literary education. First, it is better to use more abundant paratexts when dealing with the works of Park in the ‘consideration of social and cultural context’. Second, regarding the ‘personalization of text’, it can be broadened to various subjects covered by Park’s novels, for example, novels dealing with old age and death can be used as educational material.
