국내 대학에서 핵심역량의 유형과 의미 탐색: ACE+ 사업 참여 대학을 중심으로

국문 초록

지식정보화 사회의 도래로 정보와 지식을 활용할 수 있는 능력의 함양이 필요하다는 관점에 따라 역량중심교육이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 대학의 역량중심교육을 위한 기초연구로서 ACE+ 사업에 참여한 국내 대학의 역량명 및 하위역량, 정의를 바탕 으로 역량을 분류한 후, 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 통하여 역량의 의미를 탐색하였다. 본연구에서는 2017년도 ACE+ 사업에 참여한 대학의 계획서 및 보고서를 수집하여 역량의 유형 및 정의를 공개한 27개 대학의 역량을 대상으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 역량은 문제해결, 공동체, 글로벌, 의사소통, 인성, 자기주도, 학습, 전문성, 문화예술의 9개 유형으로 분류되었다. 역량 중 글로벌 역량과 의사소통 역량은 대학 간의 의미가 공통된 인식이 나타났으나 문제해결, 공동체, 인성, 자기주도, 학습, 전문 성, 문화예술 역량은 통일된 인식이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 각 역량의 정의문에 구성된 키워드의 관련어 분석으로 역량의 의미를 분석한 결과, 역량을 설명하는 키워드는 하위 역량명이거나 역량을 성취하기 위한 방법을 나타내며, 품사는 역량의 목적이나 대상을 의미하는 명사나 구체적 행동지표인 동사를 제시하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 대학의 역량모델 개발 및 표준화된 역량진단도구에 활용될 것이다.

영문 초록

Competency-based education has attracted attention due to the need to cultivate the ability to utilize information and knowledge in the knowledge-based society. The purpose of this study is to classify the competencies based on the name and definition of competencies and sub-competencies of domestic universities participating in the ACE + project and to investigate the meaning of competency through the text mining method. For this purpose, the data include the plans and reports of the universities participating in the ACE + project in 2017 and were analyzed for the competencies of 27 universities that disclosed the types and definitions of competencies. In result, first, competency was classified into nine types, including problem solving, community, global, communication, personality, self-direction, learning, professionalism, and culture and art. Global competence and communication competencies appeared common among universities, but problem solving, community, personality, self-direction, learning, professionalism, and culture and arts competencies lacked unified perceptions among universities. Second, the keywords of competencies type have derived meaning of competency. As a result of analyzing the meaning of competence by analyzing the relation of keywords within the definition of the competency, the keywords indicate a subordinate competency name or the methods for accomplishing the competency. In addition, the part-of-speech of the keywords mostly include nouns which mean the goals and objects of the competency or concrete behavioral indicators. The results of this study will imply to the development of competency models and the standardized competency assessment instrument of university.
