유아교사의 유아진로교육에 대한 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교사가 인식하는 유아진로교육에 대한 중요도와 실행도를 분석하여 효율적인 진로교육 프로그램을 구안하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 유아진로교육 목표 및 내용 관련 4개 대영역 및 7개 중영역, 총 34개 항목에 대한 유아교사들의 중요도와 실행도 인식 수준을 IPA Matrix로 분석하였다. 그에 따라 지속유지(강점항목), 우선지원(약점항목), 장기개선(저우선 순위) 그리고 이미 노력(불필요강점)으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 설문조사는 2019년 1월 9일부터 1월 25일까지 실시하였으며, 부산 및 경남의 유아교육기관에 재직 중인 교사 105명이 참여하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아교사들은 유아진로교육 목표 및 내용에 대한 중요성을 인식하고 있으며 그에 따라 실행하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 중요도 인식 평균이 실행도 평균보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, IPA matrix 결과, 지 속 유지 영역 1사분면(높은 중요도-높은 실행도)에는 대영역 『자기이해와 사회적 역량개발』, 중영역 「자기이해와 긍정적 자아개념형성」, 「다른 사람과 긍정적 상호작용」과 「일에 대한 긍정적 태도」가 나타났다. 우선 지원 영역 2사분면(높은 중요도-낮은 실행도)에는 대영역 『일과 직업세계 이해』가 나타났다. 장기 개선 영역 3사분면(높은 중요도-낮은 실행도)은 대영역 『진로탐색』과 『진로디자인과 준비』, 중영역 「일과 직업에 대한 인식」, 「직업정보의 탐색」과 「의사결정의 중요성 인식」, 「계획과 실천의 중요성 인식」이 나타났다. 그러나 기본적으로 4개 대영역 및 7개 중영역, 총 34개 항목 모두 중요하게 인식되고 교육현장에서 실천되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 유아진로교육 관련 프로그램 및 교수전략 개발과 이에 대한 연수 등을 통해서 현장에서 유아진로교육이 이루어질 수 있도록 지원해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze early childhood teachers’ perceptions of the importance and performance on young children’s career education and provide fundamental information to design developmentally appropriate career programs for young children. We analyzed the importance and performance level of early childhood teachers in four large areas included seven sub-areas and total 34 items related to the goals and contents of young children’ career education using IPA matrix. 105 early childhood teachers participated in this study. The data were analyzed by the paired sample t-test and IPA matrix. From the results, first, teachers perceived the importance of young children’s career education to be higher, but relatively lower in performance. The differences in all four large areas of young children’s career education were identified as statistical significance. Second, the first quadrant of IPA matrix with high importance and performance, indicating “Keep up the good work.” had『self-understanding and social capacity development』and the second quadrant, meaning “concentrate here” did 『understanding work and job worlds』. The third quadrant with low importance and performance, meaning “low priority,” displayed『career exploration』 and 『career design and preparation』. It seems that all four large areas, including seven sub-areas and total 34 items should be recognized as importance and applied on the filed of education. Thus, specific career education programs for young children should be developed and teaching materials and strategies for early childhood teachers should be provided. Findings were discussed in relations to suggestions and future research.
