국문 초록

이 논문은 지속가능한 교육발전을 저해하는 주요 원인이 되는 교사소진 발생요인을 찾고자 했다. 소진 발생요인을 찾기 위해 2018년 11월부터 2019년 2월까지 인터뷰를 진행했고, 이를 통해 얻은 자료를 반복적 비교분석법을 이용해 분석했다. 그 결 과 교사들에게 주어지는 부당하거나 과도한 책임과 업무, 학교교육에 대한 사회의 불신과 교사에 대한 존중의 부족, 과도한 업무나 신자유주의 교육정책에 의한 줄세우기 경쟁 등으로 인한 학교 내부 구성원들 간의 갈등이 교사들을 소진시키는 중요 한 3가지 발생요인으로 도출되었다. 소진된 교사들에게서 나타나는 무기력, 냉소주의, 자존감과 성취감의 하락 등은 결국 교육의 과정과 결과에 부정적 영향을 미치고, 그 결과가 다시 교사를 소진시키는 원인으로 작용하는 악순환이 반복된다는 점에서, 학교현장의 교사소진은 교육발전의 지속가능성을 심각하게 훼손할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

This study seeks to find out the causes of teacher burnout, which is a very important cause of impeding sustainable educational development. Teachers as a very important human resource for the development of sustainable education had a problem with the burnout of excessive stress at school. To find out the causes of teacher exhaustion, information was gathered through unstructured interviews and the data were analyzed using the constant comparison method. It was revealed that excessive responsibilities and tasks, lack of trust in school education and respect for teachers, and conflicts with internal members were derived as three important factors that exhaust teachers. The lethargy, cynicism, and decline of self-esteem and achievement in exhausted teachers impair the sound development of education and, in turn, result in a significant increase in this teacher burnout phenomenon. Because of this vicious cycle, teacher burnout is regarded as an important factor which negatively affects sustainable educational development.
