다문화청소년의 진로장벽과 진로의식발달의 관계: 성취동기와 진로관련 부모행동의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화청소년의 종단적인 진로의식발달 추이를 살펴보고, 진로장벽과 진로의식발달의 관계에서 성취동기와 진로관련 부모행동의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 다문화청소년 패널조사(MAPS: Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study) 2014년(4차), 2015년(5차), 2016년(6차) 자료를 활용하여 주요 변인들의 기술통계와 상관관계를 구하고 측정모형 및 연구모형을 검증하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화청소년의 종단적인 진로의식발달에서는 유의미한 변화가 없었다. 둘째, 진로관련 부모행동 중 부모간섭과 진로의식발달을 제외한 모든 변인 간에 유의미한 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 진로장벽이 진로인식발달에 미치는 영향에서 성 취동기와 진로관련 부모행동의 유의미한 매개효과가 확인되었다. 이를 구체적으로 제시하면, 매개변인 중 개인 내적 변인인 성취동기는 진로의식발달에 부분매개효과를 보였으며, 진로관련 부모행동 중 부모관여부족을 거쳐 순차적 매개효과가 있는것으로 확인되었다. 동시에, 외적 매개변인인 진로관련 부모행동 중 부모지지와 부모관여부족은 진로의식발달에 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 다문화청소년 대상 진로의식발달 프로그램을 구성할 때 진로장벽, 성취동기, 진로관련 부모행동의 영향을 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the longitudinal changes of multi-cultural adolescents’ career consciousness and the mediating effects of achievement motivation and career-related parental behavior on the relationship between career barriers and career consciousness development. In doing so, we used the Multi-cultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS) data to produce the descriptive statistics and correlations of the main variables and to verify the measurement and research model. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the development of multi-cultural adolescents’ career consciousness did not show any significant change. Second, there were significant correlations between all variables except parent interference and career consciousness development, positively or negatively. Third, there was a significant mediating effect of achievement motivation and career-related parental behaviors on the relationship between career barriers and career consciousness development. Specifically, it shows that the achievement motivation partially mediated the relationship between career barriers and the development of career consciousness. At the same time, there are the partial mediation effect of parental support and the lack of parental involvement on the relationship between career barriers and the development of career consciousness. In particular, the point to note in the current study is that multi-cultural adolescents’ career barriers have a great negative influence on the development of career consciousness. These findings imply that achievement motivation, and career-related parental behaviors need to be considered, especially focusing on reducing career barriers, when constructing the programs to develop multi-cultural adolescents’ career consciousness.
