국문 초록

이 글의 목적은 식민지 시기 일상사 연구에 있어서 한 지방의 식민지 시기의 각종 자료들을 어떠한 방식으로 수집하고 활용하는 것이 필요한 가에 대한 방법론적 제안을 담고 있다. 이 제안을 위해 본 연구에서는 현재까지 한국에서 광범위하게 진행된 식민지 시기 연구의 동향과 특성을 파악하고 있으며, 이 연구들의 특징과 연관된 자료 수집의 방법이 어떠한 형식으로 전개되어야 하는가에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 특히 식민지 시기를 연구함에 있어서 수탈론과 근대화론의 이분법적 대립을 뛰어 넘어 식민지 근대성을 민중의 일상에서 찾기 위해 어떠한 자료집성이 필요한 가를 설명하기 위해 몇 개의 사례를 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to propose that how collect or apply the materials of the colonial period for the “alltagsgeschichte” study. For this proposal, this research includes the history of colonial period study in Korea, and correlate the characteristics of colonial period study with the methodology of the archive. The constitution of Korean colonial modernity has been understood as following that of Western modernization model, where the priority of the modern implied in the distinction of the premodern/modern was historically established. However, the main study of the colonial period in Korea were the colonial modernization theory and the colonial exploitation theory. The main goal of this study is to overcome these polarization trends, and seek to make new research field of “alltagsgeschichte” and the archive of the public life history during the Japanese colonial period.
