국문 초록

이 논문은 일본인 귀환자를 소재로 한 소설 속에 개인의 특별한 체험이 어떻게 그려져 그것이 집단기억으로 전유될 수 있을까를 살폈다. 특히 패전이라는 중요한 역사적 화두가 일본인 귀환자들에게 어떤 방식으로 받아들여졌으며, 그것이 전쟁과 어떤 상관성 속에서 해석되어야 하는지를 따져 보았다. 그리고 텍스트 속에 그려진 소련군(인민군)과 미군, 조선인, 일본인 귀환자들의 모습을 비교 검토하여 그것이 갖는 유의미성을 살폈으며, 그렇게 함으로써 전쟁과 패전이 향후 전개될 일본의 내셔널리즘에 끼친 영향을 그려볼 수 있었다. 개인의 기억이 그려내는 무늬 속에서 망각되었거나 왜곡되었거나 확대된 측면이 있다면 서사가 설령 팩트에 근거하고 있다하더라도 작가의 의도가 무엇인지를 묻는 것은 의미가 있다.이 논문은 그 질문에 답하고자 작성되었다.

영문 초록

This study is to inquire into how the individuals’ special experience in the novel whose subject matter is Japanese returnee shaped and transformed into collective memory. Especially, this study is to investigate how the important historical topic, that is, defeat in World War Ⅱ, was accepted to Japanese returnee and then to examine in what kind of relationship with World War Ⅱ the way of acceptance should be interpreted. In addition, this study is to compare and analyze the characteristics of the former Soviet army, the US army, Chosun people, Japanese returnee shaped in textbooks and to examine the significance of the results, which enables us to visualize the influence of World War Ⅱ and defeat in World War Ⅱ on the future development of Japan’s nationalism. If the individuals’ memory was obliterated, distorted, and extended, even though the narrative is based on some facts, it is important to question about the writer’s intention. This study was written to answer the question.
