국문 초록

그리스도교에서 볼 때, 죽음은 자연스럽게 오는 게 아니라, 죄에 대한 벌로 인간에게 주어진 것이다. 원래 인간은 죄짓지 않고 죽지 않을 가능성을 가지고 창조되었다. 그러나 자유의지를 가지고 불순종한 결과, 지금은 죄가 필연이 되고 죽음도 필연이 되었다. 이것은 그리스도교가 삶과 존재를 매우 긍정적으로 보고 있음을 보여준다. 한편, 실체론적 사유를 한 그리스도교는 죽은 이후에도 지속되는 개인의 아이덴티티에 관심을 가진 것 같다. 그래서 영혼불멸을 믿는다. 영혼불멸은, 지상의 삶에서 불가능했던 개인의 자기완성이 사후에라도 이루어지기를 바라는 희망과 관련이 있는 것 같다. 하나님은 믿는 자의 자기완성을 돕고, 그에게 영원한 자유와 복을 허락한다. 그런 식의 사유는 칸트의 신 존재 증명에 영향을 준 것 같다. 칸트의 최상선과 최고선의 문제, 그리고 신 존재의 요청은 그리스도교 신학을 세속화한 것이다.

영문 초록

Death is not considered as a natural part of life but as punishment for sin in Christian faith. Human is believed to be created at first with the possibility not to sin and not to die. With the distorted free will, sin and death have become unavoidable, though. This shows that Christianity has positive and affirmative attitude toward this worldly being and life. Sticking to the substantialist way of thinking, Christians are concerned about lasting individual identities, which leads to the belief of immortality of soul. The doctrine of the immortality of soul seems to come from hope for perfection, which is impossible in this world, regarding relation with God and others. As faith is credited as righteousness, man of faith is given eternal freedom and happiness after death. This obviously affected Kant’s argument about immortality of soul and his proof of existence of God. Kant’s issue of the supreme good and the sovereign good and his postulation of the existence of God is somewhat secularized type of Christian belief.
