초·중학생의 『학교생활 공감척도』개발 및 타당화

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초 중학생이 학교생활을 하는 과정에서 형성되는 학교생활 공 감을 측정하는 도구를 개발하는데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 공감측정도구 관 련 선행연구를 분석하여 도구 개발에 필요한 문항을 도출한 후 2회에 걸친 델파이 조사를 통해 예비문항 30개를 선정하였다. 다음으로 예비검사와 본 검사를 실시하여 도구에 대한 타당화 검증을 하였다. 예비검사는 서울, 경기, 인천지역 초등학교 5학 년∼중학교 3학년 764명을 대상으로 하였으며, 탐색적 요인분석결과 4개요인, 22개 문항을 추출하였다. 본 검사는 예비검사 결과에서 추출한 22개 문항의 측정도구를 사용하여 653명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 확인적 요인분석을 통해 ‘친구관계에 대한 인지적 공감(9문항)’, ‘친구관계에 대한 정서적 공감(4문항)’, ‘교사관계에 대한 인지 적 공감(5문항)’, ‘교사관계에 대한 정서적 공감(4문항)’ 등 4개 요인으로 구성된 최 종 측정도구가 개발되었다. 확인적 요인분석에서 CFI, TLI, GFI RMSEA 등의 지수 값이 모두 권장수용 수준 이상으로 나타나 학교생활 공감을 측정하는데 적합함을 확인하였다. 준거관련타당도 분석결과 학교생활 공감 척도의 하위요인들과 기본공 감도구는 유의한 상관을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 『학교생활 공감척도(School Life Empathy Scale: SLES)』가 초등학교 및 중학교 청소년에게 활용 가능한 타당하고 신뢰성 있는 도구임을 시사해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 청소년의 학교생활 공감적 환경 조성 및 발전을 위한 기초 연구 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

According to previous research on empathy, it has positive effects on not only affective aspects, such as increasing pro-social behaviors, decreasing aggressiveness and social prejudice, etc., but also increasing academic achievement and improving creative thinking. In order to measure precisely how students empathetic ability changes through school education, it is necessary to consider comprehensively various aspects which are observed at school like the relationship between teacher and student and between students. The purpose of this research is to develop and validate a scale which measures empathetic competency change with the consideration of educational experiences during both curricular and extracurricular classes in elementary middle school. To conduct the research, items, which are needed to develop school life empathy measurement tool suitable for elementary middle school education, were chosen based on the analysis of previous research on empathetic measurement tool. After that, 30 preliminary items were selected with the use of delphi method twice. The preliminary survey were conducted to validate these items and 764 subjects were participated. They were the fifth and sixth grade of elementary school students and the first, second, and third grade of middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, 4 factors(cognitive empathy for relationship with friends, affective empathy for relationship with friends, cognitive empathy for relationship with teachers, affective empathy for relationship with teachers) and 22 items were confirmed. To validate a composed tool, 653 elementary middle school students were participated in the main survey. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, goodness-of-fit acceptance criterion was satisfactory. This research has drawn meaningful results in terms of suggesting valid and reliable school life empathy measurement tool which can be useful in elementary middle schools. Furthermore, it can play an important role as basic research data for creating and developing empathetic atmosphere for school life.
