성격5요인, 대학전공선택요인 및 대학생활적응의 종단적 관계 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 학교생활적응과 관련하여 중요한 개인특성 변인인 성 격5요인 및 전공선택요인에 따른 대학생활적응의 종단적 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국고용패널(KEEP) 5차(2008년), 7차(2010년), 9차(2012년) 자료를 이용 하여 선형혼합효과분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 외향성, 친화성, 성실성의 높고 낮 은 집단에 따른 대학생활적응의 차이는 유의미하지 않았으며, 신경증과 개방성은 높 은 집단이 낮은 집단에 비해 시간이 지날수록 대학생활적응이 낮아지는 것으로 나 타났다. 대학생활적응과 전공선택요인의 관계를 자율적 전공선택유형집단(자신의 적성, 직업과의 관련성)과 의존적 전공선택유형 집단(성적, 가정형편 등)으로 나누어 살펴본 결과, 의존적 전공선택유형집단의 대학생활적응은 자율적 전공선택유형 집 단에 비해 초기값은 유의미하게 낮았으나, 시간이 지날수록 대학생활적응이 높아지 는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 대학생의 대학생활적응을 위한 교육적이고 실제적인 시사점과 추후 연구를 위한 제안점이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to examine the longitudinal relationship between Big 5 personalty which is important individual characteristic construct in college adjustment, major choice factors such as individuals’ interest, aptitude and school achievement and college adjustment. For this purpose, we used 5th, 7th, and 9th KEEP data and conducted Linear Mixed Effects Regression(LMER). As a result, it was confirmed that Neuroticism and Openness are related with college adjustment. The intercept of high neuroticism group is higher than low neuroticism group and slope of high neuroticism group are lower than low neuroticism group. In openness, the slop of high openness group is lower than high openness group. Then we tested the relationship of major choice factor and college adjustment To clarify the effect of major choice factor on college adjustment, we divided the responses into two groups. We consider the individual’s aptitude, the possibility of employment, the relatedness with job they want as automatic major choice type group, and social reputation of major, school achievement, University‘s advertisement, family circumstance as dependent major choice type group. As a result, college adjustment of dependent major choice type group is significantly lower in the intercept and is significantly higher in slope than automatic major choice type group. Based on the results, educational and practical implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.
