남녀 중학생의 학습습관 유형과 유형결정요인:

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국아동·청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 원자료 중 중학교 3학년 2,250명을 대상으로 남녀 중학생의 학습습관을 유형화하고, 남녀 중학생의 인구사회학적 특성, 가족 사회자본, 학교 사회자본의 차이에 따른 학습습관 유형의 차이를 살펴본 후, 남 녀 중학생의 학습습관 유형 결정요인을 파악하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 성취가치, 숙달 목적지향성, 행동통제, 학업시간관리의 네 차원의 하위영역을 토대로 남녀 중학생의 학습습관을 유형화한 결과 남학생은 학습습관 우수형, 학습습관 일반형, 숙달목적 취약형, 학습습관 취약형으로 분류되었고, 여학생은 학습습관 우수형, 시간관리 취 약형, 숙달목적 취약형, 학습습관 취약형으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 남녀 중학생의 인구 사회학적 특성에 따라 학습습관 유형의 차이는 부의 학력 및 직업, 가구연간소득에 서 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 여자 중학생은 모의 학력 및 가구연간소득에서 차이가 나타났다. 또한 남녀 중학생의 가족 및 학교 사회자본에 따라 학습습관 유형은 차이 를 보여 남녀 모두 학습습관 우수형은 부모의 방임 수준이 낮고, 친구에 대한 부모 의 관심 정도가 가장 높으며, 친구 및 교사관계 수준이 높은 집단의 분포가 많은 것 으로 나타났다. 반면 학습습관 취약형은 방임 수준이 높고, 친구에 대한 부모의 관 심이 낮으며, 친구 및 교사와의 관계 수준이 낮은 집단의 분포가 많은 것으로 나타 났다. 셋째, 남자 중학생은 교사관계가 학습습관 취약형과 비교할 때 세 유형 모두 에 영향을 미치는 결정요인으로 밝혀졌고, 여자 중학생은 친구 및 교사관계의 학교 사회자본이 학습습관 취약형과 다른 유형들에 속할 가능성을 구분하는 결정요인으 로 나타난 차이가 있다.

영문 초록

The objective of this research was to classify the study habits of male and female middle school students into several distinctive types, by using the raw data of 2,250 subjects who were third year students in middle schools in the 2010 Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey. After assessing the differences in study habit types of male and female middle schoolers according to differences in sociodemographic characteristics, family social capital and school social capital, this study sought to distinguish study habit types and their determinants. The main results of this research were as follows. Based upon sub-dimensions of achievement value, mastery goal orientation, behavioral control and academic time-management, the study habit of male middle schoolers was classified into four types designated as superior, general, vulnerable in mastery goal, and vulnerable, whereas female middle schooler study habit was classified into four types designated as superior, vulnerable in time-management, vulnerable in mastery goal, and vulnerable. There was a significant difference in the type of study habits of male and female middle schoolers according to the sociodemographic characteristics of educational level and occupation of fathers and household annual income. For female middle schoolers, a significant difference was found relative to the educational level of mothers and household annual income. Furthermore, a difference in type of study habits was found to be dependent on the family social capital and school social capital of middle schoolers. For both male and female students, subjects with superior type of study habit revealed to have low level of neglect, have the highest level of parents attitude toward peers, and have good relationship with peers and teachers. In contrast, subjects with vulnerable type of study habit showed to have high level of neglect, have low level of parents attitude toward peers, and have low scores in the relationship with peers and teachers. Additionally, for male middle schoolers, teacher relationship was found to be a determining factor affecting study habit types of superior, general, and vulnerable in mastery goal but not vulnerable study habit type. Moreover, for female middle schoolers, school social capital of peer relationship and teacher relationship was discovered to be determinants that may demarcate possible grouping into the vulnerable study habit type.
