CEAS로 살펴본 도시지역 초등학생들의 환경정서

국문 초록

본 연구는 CEAS(어린이의 환경 정서 척도)의 내용타당도(CVR) 검토 과정을 통해 국내 도시지역 학생들의 환경정서를 살펴보고자하였다. 도시 지역 초등학생들의 환경정서를 살펴보기 위해 2017년 6월 CEAS의 내용타당도를 검토 후 초등학생 5, 6학년 98명을 대상으로 예비조사를 실시하였으며, 본 조사는 2017년 7월 서울에 거주하고 있는 3개의 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동 총 133명을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 조사대상초등학생의 환경정서 수준의 평균은 3.89, 표준편차는 .641이었다. 도시지역 초등학생의 성별, 학년에 따른 환경정서의 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. CEAS의 3요인별(환경행위의지, 환경태도, 환경감수성)로 분석 결과 환경행위의지와 환경감수성 요인은 표준편차가 크고, 조사대상의 의견이 요인별로 상이함을 보여준다. CEAS를 활용한 환경정서 측정에서 환경행위의지가 높은 학생은 환경태도와 환경감수성 요인도 높은 경향을 찾을 수 있지만, 환경태도가 높다고 해서 환경행위의지와 환경감수성이 높지 않다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 학습자가 환경에 대한 중요성을 인식하고 있지만, 스스로 환경문제를 해결하기 위한 행위를 하고자 하는 의지로 연결되지 않음을 나타낸다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the environmental affect of students in urban areas in Korea through reviewing the CVR of the CEAS(Children s Environmental Affect Scale). In order to examine the environmental affect of elementary school students in urban areas, we examined the contents validity of CEAS in June, 2017, and conducted a pilot test of 98 elementary school students in 5th and 6th grades. Main survey was conducted on 133 children in 5th and 6th grade in three elementary schools in Seoul, Korea in July, 2017. The average environmental affect level of elementary school students surveyed was 3.89 and the standard deviation was .641. There was no statistically significant difference in environmental affect according to gender and grade in elementary school students in urban areas. As a result of the three factors of CEAS (Willingness to take environmental action, Environmental attitude, Environmental Sensitivity), the results showed that the willingness to take environmental action and the environmental sensitivity factors had large standard deviations. The environmental attitude and the environmental sensitivity factor of the students who have a high willingness to environmental action are found to be high through the environmental affect measurement using the CEAS. However, it can be confirmed that the environmental attitude and environmental sensitivity are not high because of the high environmental affect. This indicates that learners are aware of the importance of the environment but are not connected to the willingness to act on their own to solve environmental problems.
