영문 초록

Recently, the Ministry of Korean Education is emphasizing on character education more than ever since our society and family structure is changing rapidly and transitioning its perspective very differently from the past. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of music education as a means of children s character formation from the review of related materials on music education and character education. Besides of respect, discipline, concern, sharing, cooperation are traditionally emphasized in character education, self understanding and self control are requested in modern society. These may be formed through musical expression from the early stage of human development. Therefore it is naturally said that music education forms character education.
