국문 초록

이 연구는 기존 문학사 연구에서 1920년대 시문학의 역사적 전개 과정과 그 근대적 특성에 대해 실제로 무엇을 어떻게 서술하고 있는 지 검토함으로써, 근대 시문학의 형성 과정을 종합적으로 고찰해 보는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 한국 근대시의 기점을 1920년대라고 설정한 여러 문학사 서술을 중심으로 고찰하여 그 타당성을 살펴보고, 여타의 다른 논의를 참고 하여 당대 문학사의 구도를 다각도로 모색해 보는 것이 이 연구의 최종 목표인 것이다. 이를 위해서는 당시의 문학적 현상을 바라보는 하나의 시각 내지는 기준이 필요한데 ‘자기지향성’과 ‘타자 지향성’이라는 기준과 ‘내면 지향성’과 ‘외면 지향성’이라는 기준은 당대를 바라보는 보다 입체적이고 유용한 형식 원리가 될 수 있다. ‘자기지향성’은 내재적이며 전통적인 성향을 뜻하는 것이고, ‘타자 지향성’은 외래적이며 비전통적인 성향을 말하는 것이다. ‘내면 지향성’은 심미성과 예술성을 중시하는 입장이라면, ‘외면 지향성’은 도덕성과 사상성을 강조하는 입장이다. 개화기 시가의 ‘외면 지향성’을 극복하며 나타난 1910년대 말 1920년대 초의 낭만주의 시와 민요시는 모두 ‘내면 지향성’을 나타내고 있다는 공통점을 보이고 있다. 그런데 ‘내면 지향성’이라는 점에서 공통적인 낭만주의 시와 민요시는, 전자가 외래적이고 비전통적인 ‘타자 지향성’을 띠고 있는데 반해 후자는 내재적이고 전통적인 ‘자기지향성’을 보이고 있다는 점에서 차이가 난다. 즉 ‘내면의 발견’을 자극한 경로 가 외부냐 내부냐에 따라 달라진 것이다. 그러나 이러한 ‘내면 지향성’은 1920년대 중반을 고 비로 다시 한번 변화를 겪게 된다. 계급주의 의 영향으로 인해 ‘외면 지향성’과 ‘타자 지향성’이 다시 강조되기 시작한 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively consider the formation and development of modern poetry after examining the describeption in literary historical studies of the historical development process of poetry in the 1920s and its modern characteristics. Therefore, a single perspective or standard for observing the literary phenomenon of the 1920s is needed. ‘Self-orientation’ refers to an intrinsic and traditional disposition, while ‘other-orientation’ refers to an extrinsic and non-traditional disposition. ‘Inner-orientation’ is a position that emphasizes aesthetics, artistry and ‘exterior-orientation’ is a position that emphasizes morality, ideology. Romantic poetry and folk poetry of the early 1920s, which appeared in reaction to the ‘exterior-orientation’ of the 1910s, both demonstrate ‘inner-orientation’. However, the common thread of ‘inner-orientation’ in romantic poetry and folk poetry differ in that the former has an extrinsic and non-traditional ‘other-orientation’, while the latter displays an intrinsic and traditional ‘self-orientation’. However, this ‘inner-orientation’ changed again in the mid-1920s when due to the influence of classism, ‘exterior-orientation’ was emphasized again.
