국문 초록

교육과정 설계에서 가장 중요한 문제는 교육내용의 선정과 조직에서 비롯된다. 특히 내용 조직과 관련하여 다양한 학습이론들이 조직 방법에 많은 시사점을 던져주고 있다. 최근에 비약적인 발전을 보이는 인지이론과 구성주의는 이 문제에서 타당한 기초를 제공해주고 있다. 이와 관련하여 인지와 교육과정 문제에 대해 Efland는 기존의 계층적인 학습을 가정하는 나선형 모형을 비판하고 다원적이고 비순차적인 학습을 보장해주는 Lattice 모형을 제안하고 있다. 본 연구는 이 모형의 배경과 주요 특징을 살펴보고, 미술교육과정설계에 가능한 적용 방안을 논의해보는 데 초점을 둔다. 그리고 래티스 모형의 발전을 을 위하여 브루너의 지식의 구조와 나선형의 본질에 입각한 보다 타당한 논의에 기초하여 통합적인 모형의 개발을 제안하고 있다. 향후 래티스 모형의 장점과 단점을 보완하여 학교교육에서 보다 나은 미술교육이 이루어질 필요가 있다. 학생들에게 가치 있는 교육과정을 제공하려는 노력은 멈출 수 없는 것이며, 인간 사고와 지식의 다양성에 기초하여 보다 풍부하고 다양한 교육과정을 경험할 수 있도록 해주어야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to search the suggestion of art curriculum design on the basis of Arthur D. Efland's lattice curriculum model. Curriculum design concerns with selection and organization of learning experience and content through interrelating various curriculum elements. In particular, spiral pattern as a mode of organization has been challenged by current theory of constructivism, Recent views of learning and cognition are contrasted with the learning theories of the late 1950s and early 1960s. There are many critics about spiral pattern in art curriculum in the line of the nature of art knowledge and structure of knowledge. Here is that Bruner's idea are contrasted with current theoretical efforts. Current cognitive views, though still indebted to Bruner, differ markedly, suggesting that a sufficient base of knowledge must be in place before advanced knowledge acquisition is fruitful(Efland, 1995). Now arts curriculum should be reconsidered by cognition and structure of knowledge. Efland(1995) suggest lattice curriculum model may be constructed on the basis of cognitive reflexibility theory. So, according to his argument, curriculum design of art should be estabilished in the line of lattice model rather than spiral model. In deliberation of his suggestion, we discuss the nature and value of lattice model and examine the validity of that model. In the future curriculum model of art need to be integrated model of spiral and lattice on the basis of the nature and structure of art knowledge. We are look forward to seeing new picture of arts curriculum nested in structure of knowledge and cognition.
