국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 중학교 2학년 학생들의 과학 교과목 정의적 영역의 특성을 잠재프로파일 분석을 통해 잠재 집단으로 분류하고 분류된 잠재집단별 특성을 분석하여 우리나라 중학교 2학년 학생들의 과학 교육의 개선점을 탐색하고자 하였다. 우리나라 중학교 2학년 학생들의 과학 정의적 영역에 대한 잠재프로파일분석을 수행한 결과 TIMSS에서는 5개의 잠재집단으로 구분할 수 있었다. 이 중 불균등 중성 취군과 불균등 하성취군은 가정의 교육자원 환경이나 부모의 학력 수준이 유사한 집단이었으나, 불균등 하성취군이 흥미나 자신감이 낮고 학업성취도도 낮은 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 이 집단에는 여학생들이 다수 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. PISA에서는 3개의 잠재집단으로 분류할 수 있었으며, 부모의 학력과 가정의 부가 학생의 정의적 영역 발달과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 가정의 교육자원이 학생의 과학 흥미, 가치에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이를 개선하기 위해 자유학년 제를 적극 활용하여 여학생 과학캠프, 플립러닝 등의 다양한 활동을 통해 학생들의 흥미와 자신감을 고취할 수 있는 프로그램들을 운영하는 것을 제언한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the improvement of science education for middle school second grade students in Korea by classifying the second grade students science subject affective characteristic through latent profile analysis. As a result of performing latent profile analysis on science affective characteristic of second grade students in Korea, TIMSS was able to classify them into five latent groups. Of these, groups 2 and 3 were groups with similar educational resource environments or parents educational levels, but group 3 showed low interest, confidence, and academic achievement, and there were many female students in this group. In the PISA, it could be classified into three latent groups, and the supportive environment of the family was found to be related to the development of the student s affective domain. It has been shown that educational resources at home have an effect on students scientific enjoyment, interest, and external motivation, and even if there are slight differences in the economic level of the family, providing similar levels of educational resources at home achieves a similar affective domain. In order to improve these problems, it is suggested that the free grade system be actively utilized to run programs that promote students interest and self-confidence through various activities, such as female students science camp and flip learning and so on.
