국문 초록

왜대칭행렬의 계급은 항상 짝수이다. 크기가 N×N이고 계급이 2s인 왜대칭행렬은 고유값분해 정리에 의하면 계급이 2이면서 서로 수직인 s개의 동일 크기 왜대칭행렬들의 합으로 유일하게 분해될 수 있다. 이 분해를 구성하는 각 왜대칭행렬은 2차원 평면에서 N개의 점으로 유일하게 재표현될 수 있는데 본 연구에서는 이를 부분공간 산점도라 칭한다. 본 연구는 왜대칭행렬 자료의 분석에서 원자료에 내재된 개체들 사이의 관계유형 및 관계강도 정보를 부분공간 산점도들을 통해 기하적으로 표현하고 해석해내는 방법에 관한 것이다. 먼저 개체들 사이의 특징적 관계들을 유형별로 분류하고 명명하였으며, 각 관계의 유형 및 강도가 부분공간 산점도에서 어떻게 나타나는지를 가상 예들을 통해 구체적으로 보였다. 그리고 실제 자료를 이용하여 부분공간 산점도들이 어떻게 활용되고 해석되는지를 설명하면서 이의 명명화 가능성을 제기하였다.

영문 초록

A skew-symmetric matrix of size N×N contains all of the information about pair-wise relations between the N objects. The first concern of this paper is a graphical presentation of it on 2-dim scatter plots. The rank of a skew-symmetric matrix is even. A skew-symmetric matrix of size N×N and of rank 2s can be uniquely decomposed with skew-symmetric and pairwise-perpendicular matrices of the same size N×N and of rank 2 by the eigenvalue decomposition theorem. And each constituent matrix can be uniquely represented as N points on a 2-dim scatter-plot. It is called ‘subspace scatter-plot’ in this paper. The proper interpretation of it is the second concern. For these the types of relation between several objects are classified and named. And how the type and the strength of a relation be represented on a subspace scatter-plot is investigated by many examples. A real migration data between 15 districts of Korea is used for graphical analysing a skew-symmetric matrix data and for the proper interpretation of subspace scatter-plots.
