요양보호사들의 노인의 성지식과 성태도

국문 초록

본 연구는 요양보호사들의 노인의 성에 대한 교육요구도, 성지식과 성태도를 파악하여 요양보호사들이 노인의 성에 대한 지식 향상과 개방적인 태도로 노인의 성과 관련된 신체ㆍ정서적 문제에 보다 쉽고 용이하게 접근할 수 있는 방향을 모색하고자 실시된 서술적 조사연구이다. 구조화된 설문지를 통해 J도에 소재하고 있는 노인요양시설 12곳에서 근무하는 요양보호사 392명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 요양보호사들은 노인의 성에 대한 높은 교육요구도를 보였으며, 성지식의 평균 정답률은 47.3%, 성태도는 허용적인 태도 범위에 있는 문항의 수가 부정적인 태도 범위에 있는 문항의 수보다 더 많았다. 노인의 성에 대한 교육요구도, 성지식과 성태도는 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며, 성태도를 설명하는 주요 변수는 교육요구도, 성지식, 직업으로 선택한 동기, 종교, 연령이었고 이들 변수의 설명력은 20.4%이었다. 시설 내에서 중요한 지지체계인 요양보호사들에게 노년층의 활발한 성 활동 가능성에 대한 이해와 노인의 성에 대해 친밀한 관계를 유지하기위해 그에 맞는 성교육 및 성 상담 프로그램 개발이 필요하며 이를 노인요양시설, 노인 병원 재가 시설 및 요양보호사 양성기관 등 다양한 장소에서 시행될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the formal caregiver’s education needs, sexual knowledge and attitude of residential care facilities by formal caregivers and to identify correlations between the factors. It collected data from 392 formal caregivers who worked at 12 residential care facilities in J-do using structured questionnaire. The study showed that higher education demand, 47.3% of the average correct answer rate to sex- related knowledge, and in their attitude to sexuality, the number of questions within the range of allowable attitude was more than that within the range of negative attitude. Scores of educational demand, knowledge and attitude of sexuality in the older adults showed statistically significant correlations. Major variables included educational demand, their knowledge of sex, motivation of their job, religion and age and explanatory power of these variables was 20.4%. Consequently, it is considered that formal caregivers need a various sexuality education and counseling program about older adults’ sexuality for improving satisfaction with the life of the older adults.
