국문 초록

범세계화 추세에 따라 경쟁이 더욱 치열해진 세계 항공운송시장에서 항공사들은 지속적인 제휴를 통한 경쟁구조로 변모해 나가고 있으며 특히 경쟁사와 경쟁적 공존 전략의 일환으로 제휴항공사간에 자본 참여를 최소화하면서 사업운영상의 독립성을 유지하는 상용고객우대제도(frequent flier program) 제휴가 활성화되고 있다. 이와 같은 상황에서 항공사들은 전략적으로 접근하여 이를 운영해 나가야 하는 방안과 함께 제휴에 따른 성과관리를 해나가야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 전략론적 관점에서 5개의 글로벌 제휴그룹의 41개 항공사를 연구대상으로 선정하여 항공사 상용고객우대제도와 제휴에 관한 이론적 고찰과 함께 SPSS 19.0 패키지 프로그램을 적용하여 실증적 연구를 병행하고자 한다. 그리하여 글로벌 네트워크를 구축하고 있는 항공사 상용고객우대제도의 현황을 알아보고 제휴그룹의 항공사들이 보유한 자원구조인 경험이 항공사의 전략적 제휴(수평적 제휴, 수직적 제휴, 외부적 제휴)에 미치는 영향과 항공사 경영성과에 미치는 영향도 함께 살펴봄으로써 우리나라 항공사들의 보다 높은 국제 경쟁력의 지위 확보를 위해 상용고객우대제도의 전략적 제휴 방안과 성과 관리에 있어서 지향해 나가야 할 경영 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

In the airline alliances, the frequent flier program has become a key issue to maintain independence in business operation among the members of global alliance group by minimizing capital participation. In this regard, this study examines the impacts of performance and types of airline alliances across world focusing on the frequent flier program. With a sample of five global alliance groups, the study was attempted as an empirical study of the impacts that the resource structures held by airlines in each group has on the type of alliance. And for analyses, SPSS 19.0 as statistical tool including correlation and regression was used to test hypotheses. The findings of this study suggest that the resource structure is related with the differences of strategic alliance types and the alliance types are related with the performance of the airlines and the variance in the operation period of frequent flier program is associated with an horizontal alliance strategy. And not only a national flag carriers but also the low coast carriers in Korea, it needs to be adopted it. As the frequent flier program is important in the aspect of airline alliances, it is necessary to review this program for higher performance management and international competitive power.
