기독교와 명리학의 양립가능성에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

우리나라에서 기독교와 명리학은 각각 양지와 음지에서 크게 영향력을 발휘하는 신념체계라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 기독교는 명리학을 미신으로 여기고 있으며, 명리학 역시 두 체계사이에 놓인 간극을 메우려는 아무런 시도도 없이 현실에 안주하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기독교의 예정론과 명리학의 운명론을 비교하여, 기독교의 교리인 섭리론 안에서 명리학의 운명론과 기독교의 예정론이 양립할 수 있음을 논하는 데 있다. 기독교의 예정론은 섭리론에서, 하나님이 개인의 삶에 직접 개입함으로 발생하는 특별섭리에 속한다. 반면 일반섭리는 신이 피조물을 창조할 때 피조물에게 위임한 법칙으로, 동양에서 하늘과 자연의 운행을 설명하는 음양오행론도 포함된다. 또한 이 음양오행론은 명리학의 바탕이 되므로, 명리학은 기독교의 일반섭리 안에서 설명될 수 있는 학문인 것이다. 오랜 역사를 지니고 있는 유용한 상담도구이나 편견으로 인해 저평가되고 있는 명리학이, 그 학문이 가지고 있는 가치만큼의 대우를 받기 위해 본 연구는 유의미한 작업이라고 생각된다.

영문 초록

In Korea, Christianity and the science of Myeongli are belief systems that have a great influence on both sunny area and shade area. However, Christianity regards the science of Myeongli as superstition, and the science of Myeongli has settled down to reality without any attempt to bridge the gap between the two systems. So, this study is to compare the predestination of Christianity with the fatalism of science of Myeongli and discuss the possibility that the science of Myeongli can be understood in the Christian providential theory and thus the two systems are compatible. Christian predestination lies in providential theory, a special providence that comes from the direct intervention of God in personal life. General providence, on the other hand, is a law entrusted to the creature when God created the creation, and includes the Yin-Yang and five-elements that explains the operation of the nature in the orient. In addition, this Yin-Yang and five-elements is the basis of the science of Myeongli, so that the science of Myeongli can be understood within the general providence of Christianity. The science of Myeongli is very useful counseling tools. But because of prejudice, the science of Myeongli has been underestimated. In order for the science of Myeongli to be treated as much as the value of the scholarship, this study seems to be a meaningful work.
