인공지능기반 영어학습플랫폼 활용에 대한 초·중등교사 인식 차이분석: 영어교과 담당여부를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 인공기능기술에 기반한 영어학습 플랫폼 활용에 대한 초중등교사의 인식 차이를 영어교과 담당여부에 따라 분석한 결과이다. 이를 위해 서울시 소재 초중등교사 총 224명을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과를 빈도분석, 카이스퀘어분석, 변량 분 석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영어학습에서 인공지능기술의 활용성 인식에서 초등교사는 ‘숙제’에, 중등교사는 ‘수업시간’에 활용할 것이라는 인식의 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 초·중등 교사들은 인공지능기술이 듣기, 말하기 영역에서 가장 유용것이라고 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 초·중등 교사들은 인공지능을 활용한 영어학습 플랫폼을 ‘교수-학습활동 보조수단’으로 인식하고 있으며, 영어학습 과정에서 인공지능(AI)에 가장 요구되는 분야로 ‘각종 평가지 채점’을 꼽았다. 넷째, 초·중등 교사들 은 영어학습 플랫폼 활용 방해 요소로 ‘민간 자원을 활용한 IT시스템에 대한 활용 필요성 인식부족’을 들었고, 촉진요인에 있어서 중등교사는 ‘교육프로그램이나 연수,지원체제 제공’과 같은 외부적인 요인을, 초등교사는 ‘교사들의 역량강화와 관심’과 같은 내부적인 요인을 우선적으로 인식하는 차이를 보였다. 본 연구는 향후 인공지능기술에 기반한 영어학습 플랫폼을 공교육 현장에서 적극적으로 활용하기 위해 요구되는 정책적 지원과 교사교육에 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers perceptions about the use of English learning platform based on AI technology in English class and English learning course. In this study, for such purpose, the researcher analyzed the survey results of 224 elementary and secondary school English teachers and non-English teachers in Seoul by means of the frequency analysis, Chi-square analysis, and variable analysis. The research results are as follows. First, as to whether to carry out English education using AI, school English teachers showed higher perception of utilization than non-English teachers. There was a difference in the perception that elementary school teachers would be used for homework, and secondary school teachers would be used for school hours. Second, school English teachers showed higher perception of the usefulness of foreign language learning using AI through building an English learning platform than non-English teachers. Third, teachers perceived the English learning platform using AI as an aid to teaching-learning activities. Fourth, lack of recognition of the necessity for using IT system using civil resources was the most disturbing factor for teachers to use English learning platform while, the facilitating factor was , secondary school teachers recognized external circumstances such as Programming of Education, Training, and Support System and primary school teachers recognized internal factors such as Teachers capacity building and interest as important. This study provides implications for education policy support and teacher education in order to utilize AI technology-based English learning platform actively in the education field of public education.
