해외귀국 대학생의(TCK)의 학습경험에 관한 질적분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 해외귀국 대학생(Third Culture Kids: TCK)이 대학에서 겪고 있는 학습경험에 대해 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 해외에서 3년 이상 거주한 후 본국으로 돌아온 해외 귀국 대학생을 대상으로 그들이 지각하고 있는 대학에서의 학습경험 에 대해 질문하였다. 연구 참여자를 대상으로 실시한 인터뷰 결과를 전사하여 합의적 질적 분석(CQR) 방법으로 분석하여 정리한 결과, 해외귀국 대학생의 학습경험은 학습동기, 현재 사용하고 있는 학습방법, 선호하는 학습 환경, 국내와 해외의 학습차이, TCK 학습자가 겪고 있는 학습곤란, 이렇게 5개의 영역으로 구분되어 나타났다. 학습동기는 내재적 동기와 외재적 동기, 학습방법은 도움구하기, 경험학습, 그룹학습, 시연, 적절한 환경 만들기, 구조화로, 학습환경은 교수법, 과제, 평가로 범주화 되었다. 또한 국내외 학습차이는 경험주의학습과 교과중심학습, 학습자중심학습과 교 수자중심학습, 집단학습과 개인학습, 이해학습과 암기학습, 국내외의 학습, 교육, 능력 차이로 범주와 되어 나타났다. 마지막으로 학습자들이 겪는 어려움으로는 언어,교수와의 관계, 교우관계, 평가방식을 보고하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 대학에서 해 외귀국 대학생이 겪고 있는 학습경험에 대해 탐색하고 해석하였다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this study is to explore learning experiences of Third Culture Kids in Korean Colleges. To address this aim, TCK, who had lived in foreign countries over three years and came back to Korea, were interviewed and the data were analyzed to understand their perception regarding learning experience in Korean colleges. We used Consensual Qualitative Research(CQR) to analyzed the data and as a result, their learning experiences were categorized to learning motivation, learning strategies, preferred learning environment, difference in learning in foreign countries and Korea and difficulties in learning. Learning motivation included intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Learning strategies contained seeking for help, experiential learning, group learning, demonstration, creating proper learning environment, structured thoughts. Preferred learning earning environment included teaching strategies, assignments, and evaluation. In addition, difference in learning in foreign countries and Korea contained experiential vs curriculum based learning, learner vs teacher based learning, group vs individual learning, understanding vs memorization, and difference in learning, teaching and abilities. Finally, difficulties in learning included language, relationship between teachers, relationship between peers, and evaluation methods. At the end, implications for assisting TCK students were provided.
