국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아기 자녀를 둔 한 아버지가 주말부부로 살아가며 자녀와의 관계를 형성하고 유지하는 과정에서 어떠한 경험과 역할을 수행하는지 깊이 들여다봄으로써 그 삶을 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 W시에서 직장생활을 하고, 가족이 있 는 C시를 오가며 주말부부를 하는 최 아버지를 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 연구 자료는 2016년 4월부터 8월까지 5개월 동안 연구 참여자와의 심층 면담, 저널 쓰기, 가정 관찰, 연구자 일지 등의 방법을 사용하여 수집하고 분석하였다. 면담 자료는 연구 참여자의 사전 동의를 얻어 보이스 레코더로 녹음한 후 전사하였으며, 수집된 전사,저널 자료는 종합, 분석 및 범주화, 의미 발견 등 해석과 재해석의 과정을 거쳤다. 연구결과, 최 아버지의 내러티브는 주말 부부 아버지의 자녀 양육에 나타난 어려움, 두려움을 느끼면서도 소통을 위해 노력하는 아버지, 진정한 아버지 되어가기, 소망을 품고 사는 아버지라는 네 가지 의미로 나타났다. 최 아버지는 자녀들과의 짧은 만남의 과정 속에서 관계 회복을 위해 노력하면서 자녀를 양육하는 자아성찰의 시간을 경험하고 있었다. 이에 주말 부부, 아버지-자녀의 관계 형성에 대한 사회적 지원과 다양한 관련 연구의 수행을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This is a narrative inquiry into the experience of a father who has young children in a commuter couple. The purpose of this narrative inquiry is to describe and understand the experience of a father who has young children in commuter couple and how he realizes the meaning within his role. The participant was a father who works in other place during weeks and commute at weekends. Narrative inquiry works to re-story the stories of the participant by gathering data, analyzing it, searching for themes, and rewriting it in a sequence that makes sense. For the result, narratives of a father who has children in a commuter couple are as followings.: Difficulties in raising children of a father who has young children in a commuter couple, a father who feels fear but tries to communicate with his children, becoming a true father, and a father who cherish a hope. A father who has children in a commuter couple has the time for insight through his children. This narrative was presented individually and uniquely, but this study will give understanding to fathers experiences in commuter couples and opened doors for future research.
