누리과정 교사용지도서 「세계 여러 나라」의 비판적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 세계시민사회로의 변화에 따른 유아 세계시민교육의 필요성에 근거하여, 누리과정 교사용지도서 4, 5세용「세계 여러 나라」에 수록된 131개 교육활동을 분석하였다. 활동의 교육목표와 교사발문, 활동소재의 현황을 분석한 결과, 교 육활동의 목표는 지적 성취 지향의 행동적 목표가 높은 비중을 차지하고 있었으며, 교사발문은 단순 지식이나 사실을 회상을 요구하는 낮은 수준의 발문이 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 그리고 동화, 동요, 미술품, 춤과 같은 활동소재의 출처는 유럽 지역에 치 중해 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 「세계 여러 나라」지도서에 수록된 활동이 갖는 한계들, 즉 세계시민으로서 갖추어야 할 실천과 참여의 소외, 서구사회 지향의 문화에 대한 왜곡적인 접근, 자문화중심의 차별적 분리의 위험성 등을 비판적 관점 에서 기술하였다.

영문 초록

Government-issued teaching guides have strong influences on teachers’ teaching plan and practice. Figuring their limits and the tasks out should be imperative matters for curriculum improvement. This study performed content analysis of 131 activities contained in the 「World society」 for 4 and 5 year-old children in Nuri curriculum teaching guides and interpreted the hidden meanings in the critical perspective. The results of content analysis found shortage of problem-solving objects and expressive outcomes in the objects of activities, and too much stress upon the recall of something according to the teacher’s questions. The results also found excessive concentration of certain culture area in educational resources such as the fairy tales, and art works. The「World society」 was interpreted as including danger of discrimination, cultural subjugation of western society and economic dominance in poor countries, and as excluding discourses of act out and participation as world citizens. Additionally, the necessity of activities transformation for young children was urged, suggesting the revision of national curriculum and the renewal of teaching guides toward transformative early global citizenship education.
