어머니의 기질 및 양육효능감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 일반적 특성에 따른 어머니의 기질 및 양육효능감, 유아의 정서조절능력의 차이를 알아보고, 어머니의 기질 및 양육효능감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 부모교육 및 유아의 정서조절 증진을 위한 프로그램의 기초적인 자료를 제공하는 것에 목적이 있다. 방법 연구대상은 경기도 소재 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 3, 4, 5세 유아의 어머니 236명으로 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, t 검증, 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA), Scheffe 사후 검정, Pearson 상관분석, 다중회귀분석(Multiple Regression Analysis)을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 어머니의 기질은 직업 유무에서 부분적으로 유의한 차이를 보였고, 유아의 정서조절능력은 어머니의 연령, 유아의 성별 및 연령에서 부분적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 반면 어머니의 양육효능감은 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 어머니의 기질 중 정서성은 유아의 정서조절능력과 유의미한 부적 상관을, 어머니의 사회성은 유아의 정서조절능력과 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였다. 어머니의 양육효능감과 유아의 정서조절능력 간에는 전체적으로 정적 상관을 보였다. 또한 어머니의 정서성 기질은 양육효능감과 유의미한 부적 상관이 있었고, 사회성 기질은 양육효능감과 정적 상관이 있었으나, 활동성 기질은 양육효능감과 유의미한 상관관계는 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 어머니의 기질 중에는 정서성이 유아의 정서조절능력에 유의미한 부적 영향을, 어머니의 양육효능감 요인 중에서는 의사소통능력과 훈육능력이 유아의 정서조절능력에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미쳤고 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 요인들의 상대적 영향력은 훈육능력, 의사소통능력, 정서성 기질 순으로 나타났다. 결론 어머니의 기질 중 정서성은 유아의 정서조절능력에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 양육효능감 요인 중에서는 의사소통능력과 훈육능력이 유아의 정서조절능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 주요 요인이라는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 유아의 정서조절능력에 영향을 미치는 상대적 영향력은 훈육능력, 의사소통능력, 정서성 기질 순으로 나타난 것을 확인하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of maternal temperament and maternal parenting efficacy on children’s ability to regulate emotions. Methods Participants of this study were children aged between 3 and 5 from 7 pre-schools located in Gyeonggi province and 236 mothers. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 program, t disposition, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson, multiple regression analysis. Results First, the outcome on the effects of individual personality of mothers and children on maternal temperament, maternal parenting efficacy and children’s emotional self-regulation showed a significant correlation between maternal temperament and their employment status in some instances. Second, in relation to correlation between maternal temperament and children’s emotional self-regulation, the study found significant negative correlation between children’s emotional self-regulation with mother’s temperament such as emotionality and significant positive correlation with mother’s sociability. The study also showed an overall significant positive correlation of maternal parenting efficacy and children’s emotional self-regulation. Third, the assessment of the effects of mother’s temperament and maternal parenting efficacy on children’s emotional self-regulation showed a significant negative impact of mother’s temperament such as emotionality, significant positive impact of mother’s activity temperament and significant positive impact of mother’s ability to communicate and discipline, which are part of parenting efficacy on children’s emotional self-regulation. Conclusions The study has found negative impact of mother’s temperament such as emotionality, positive impact of maternal parenting efficacy such as ability to communicate and discipline on children’s emotional selfregulation. Drivers of emotional self-regulations in children are mother’s disciplinary capacity, ability to communicate and activity temperament listed in terms of significance.
